Up for bid is a 1965 Barracuda fast back 4 speed. Hard to believe, but this car will get 27mpg at 60MPH (Promise). Car has been taken apart and painted along with the engine completely rebuilt in 2009 and has approx 20,000 miles on it since done. Engine is a slant 6 255 that has been bored .030 over with new pistons. Crank has been turned .010 under and the head has been milled 100 thousands. (correct 100 thousands, you can do that on a slant six) that brings the compression up to approx. 9.5 to 1 Valves are stainless steel oversize with hardend seats. with double valve springs. Has a 4 bbl manifold with an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb with electric choke. (handles carb fine with no bog) Has dual snorkle air cleaner that picks up outside air along with a K&N air filter. Engine has new oil pump (high vol and pressure) water pump and fuel pump. All gaskets and seals have been replaced. Header Transmission is an a-833 with an overdrive of .73 Shifter is a Hurst with a shaft and pistol grip from a 1968 Roadrunner (I believe) Rear end is the stock 7 1/8 that also has been rebuilt with new bearings and a new ring and pinion 3:55 Clutch is new and the stock dia. and the flywheel has been resurfaced. Front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed. Paint is bright red with a Formula S stripe that is done to factory specifications and all is done in base coat clear coat. All the doors, floors and the truck are solid. Brakes on all four wheels and been rebuilt. Near new Redline tires on 14 wheels. All the glass is good, with the exception of the front, which has a little milking just around the edge. Inside the car has high back front bucket seats for safety. Original AM radio that works. New glove box. New carpet. Has a tach on the dash and a mechanical oil and water gauge just to the left of the instrument panel. When the car was taken apart, for painting, all the wiring was gone over and checked by color code and gage to the factory manual, as well as all electrical connectors were cleaned. The fuel inlet has been removed from the drivers side and a 1967 Barracuda fliptop gas cap filler has been installed in the middle of the chrome band, just at the bottom of the rear glass. Looks very nice and clean, can't believe Plymouth did not think of this. The tail lights and turn signals have very bright LED's behind the stock lens. The front is amber and the rear is red, way brighter then the bulbs and the best part is it looks stock. This car runs and drives great and is a real head turner. The exhaust exits out of a Formula S resniator in the back and because of the high compression and large diameter pipe you get a deep and mellow sound without that "6 cylinder crack". When driving, when you floor it, you can feel and hear the secondaries kick in and it plants you back in the seat. Impressive for a 6. This car can be driven anywhere and gets looks where ever you go. Retirement forces sale. Low Reserve. You could fly to Cincinnati and drive this home any where, with no worries.
