Vehicle Detail

You will be hard pressed to find a nicer running, more beautiful '56 Ford wagon than this Bermuda Blue and Colonial White beauty. It runs like a dream! The car has the optional Thunderbird 292 V8 Y block package with smooth shifting automatic transmission and a new dual exhaust system giving a throaty tone through dual Smithy's glasspacks. The engine was rebuilt less than 30,000 miles ago and runs beautifully. The car was given a 1957 and later distributor and oil filter conversion for easier and less expensive parts availability. The factory power steering system was just completely overhauled and it turns easily. The car has manual brakes with at least 50% of brake shoe life left on each wheel. It has a Custom stereo system that sounds great and fits in the stock dash location. It has KYB gas adjust shocks all around and new wide whitewall radial tires. The headliner is new along with the recovered matching white pinpoint vinyl visors. The hood and trunk badges are new and the chrome is in decent enough shape though not perfect. It has both drivers and passenger side rear view mirrors. The car was built at the Long Beach, CA assembly plant and has spent much of its life here in Southern CA. There is no major or structural rust on the vehicle and the paint is in very good shape. It has a new Interstate battery and starts right up. The seats are upholstered in a sturdy and comfortable blue reptile skin print vinyl and the floor carpeting and rear cargo area are in good shape. The driver's side door panel needs to be recovered as it is plain masonite but the rest of the interior is in excellent shape and is usable as is. It is comfortable to ride in. The gas tank was recently resealed, new fuel lines were run and an electric fuel pump was added. The car has an Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock 4 barrel carbeurator and air cleaner. This is a great running car that can cruise all day at freeway speeds without running hot. It has a vintage wooden sport steering wheel but also comes with the factory large black wheel. Guages all work except for the clock. The car had seat belts added front and rear and has the obligatory blue and white fuzzy dice. You don't see a lot of these wagons on the road and this one really turns heads and starts conversations. It was recently tuned up, has fresh oil and filter, new hoses and sounds amazing. Local buyers are free to come by to inspect the car before bidding. My son loves trains so there is an optional horn button under the passenger side dash that operates an electric train sounds horn. I regularly use the car for a 68 mile round trip commute from LA to Orange County and believe it is capable of a long trip without incident, however it is 55 years old and as such vehicle is sold as is with no express or implied warranties. Buyer is to make a $500 paypal deposit within 24 hours of winning the car with the balance to be paid within a week by cashier's check. Buyer responsible for pickup or shipping once the funds clear although I will work to coordinate with your shipper for pickup. On Aug-26-11 at 13:12:35 PDT, seller added the following information:I would consider a trade for a good running Smart ForTwo Cabriolet with no accidents or damage and a clear title.
