Vehicle Detail
This a 1973 BMW 2002TII with all repair history and the history of when Lumma in Germany (BMW shop) turned it inro a convertable re-inforceing body and frame In German) I have all the drawings photo's etc of the transformation as well as some $23,000 worth of reciepts (including the new crate tii motor installation) Mech. Fuel injected manual transmission and a blast to drive. After paint I had planned to clean up wheel wells in gloss black and fix the small seem seperation in drivers seat (easy fix as the centers are cloth incerts) See Pics. and redo the top (since it has glass side windows and glass rear... But I have an opportunity to by a chop top rat rod I've been eyballing and if it goes great if not I'll finish the restoration it runs and drives just fine.. Ha OZ wheels and lets just call it a good driver... I included all the pics including tags (yeah I got lazy and didnt remove yellow over spray on tag) The good Paint is new (it was faded when I bought it) Now matched in BMW Yellow Motor is a crate motor installed by a BMW authorised shop in Houston (all records available) and is close to 2k miles on it (have all the service records) Runs and drives great ((Just got back from a 50 mile ride and its over 100 degrees again today in Dallas. Things that need attention Clutch -its getting near the top so I need to look at it and see if its an adjustment or needs a new one...assume it needs a new one to be safe Top - although functional and with Glass It really should be replaced its faded etc...Stitching loose around glass rear window. Interior...carpet kit needed as I have been storing in my warehouse and its pulling up and just needs to be R&R. Car is for sale locally so I can end at anytime... Also if your local in dallas and have a cash and a Bourget I am interested !! Also galaxie 500's between 62-64 again cash and car. Otherwise good ole cash works just fine. I meant to do interior and top which are the easy parts just havnt gotten to it... Dan On Aug-22-11 at 06:48:55 PDT, seller added the following information: SORRY was answering questions but not POSTING them! I'll try and answer all questions from the last 10 hours... I figure they reset mileage when they made it a convertible (just to be safe) At 32232 miles motor replaced. The last last 5 years the following were replaced. I have had in my warehouse the last year Idler arm bushings - strut rod bushings - front crossmember Radiator to a three core - Driveshaft center bearing passenger trailing arm, pushrod and bearing front crank seal, fuel inector pump belt and pump gear replaced Engine tuned, adjustment to Injectors and scope work, waterpump, exhaust manifold gasket, I will be handing over all service documents to new owner including the docs when car was brought to USA Its a good daily driver . On Injector replacement question: Looking through repair reports looks like might have happened Before new crate longblock - I see Injectors tuned on history but I have not replaced. As it fires right up and drives out nice I havnt had to worry. I see the Clutch and Throw out bearing replaced so maybe it is an adjustment (BUT again figure it needs a new one as you bid) To answer other questions. Yes thats a European trailer hitch and electrical hook up (I was going to paint my RS1100RSL to match and tow but life gets in the way of plans). Back seat size.... I know it can hold several bottle's of Vue and a dozen lobsters (last New years eve) I'll measure it if its important. Let me know Yes OZ racing rims and No I do not have the two missing center BMW caps...EBAY?
