Vehicle Detail
This jeep has spent the last 15 years on the beach in North Carolina. Used as a summer family jeep, most of its miles are from driving the kids back and forth from the house to the surf. Restored 6 years ago, the floor tub and the undercarriage were Rhino lined by a company called Line-X and, at the time, the tub, frame, front, and rear bumpers were coated. The floors of the jeep are great and the rubber liner is holding up well. Underneath, the tub still has its liner protecting it. The frame is solid with typical surface rust. The Rhino lining did its job protecting it from the salt air but could use another coating. The salt air has created some rust bubbles under the paint. In the pictures you will see where these spots are. All in all the paint looks good. The color is a burnt red. The fender flares are nice and black. The front and rear bumpers are coated with the Line-X. The jeep is powered by a Chevrolet V-6 with manual 4 speed transmission. The clutch is nice and firm and engages as it should at the top of the peddle. The transmission is very nice. The synchronizers are smooth with no grinding. Each gear engages right away and there is no popping out of gear. Drive train is in great shape. The jeep originally had the 4 cylinder but were never satisfied with how it ran. Engine was professionally installed 8 years ago. Jeep has 88,446 original miles. Transfer case works flawless. New Warn lock out hubs and the jeep has a very low crawl ratio. Jeep shifts in and out of 4HI and 4LO with ease. The tires are 33x12.50. They have about 90% tread left and are on 15” aluminum bullet hole rims. The front seats are Bestop and were installed when the rhino lining was installed. The rear seat was custom made and matches the front seats perfectly. Seat belts on all seats. The lights work on the jeep. The hi and low beams work great but the bulbs need replaced on the dash lights. The speedometer works good as well as the oil pressure. The gas and temp gauge need replaced. The blinkers work good and there is a button for the horn. The wipers work normal but the heater fan needs a switch. I drove this jeep back to VA from NC last week. I drove 300 miles on a 90 degree day driving 70 mph. No problems. The jeep likes to run 65. That seems to be where the engine and drive train like to cruise. I would do 70-75 to pass a tractor trailer and it handles fine. The power steering works great and the steering box is very tight. You do not have to chase the wheel from line to line. Drives nice and straight. The jeep has a 15 gallon tank and was getting around 16 mph. All in all it is a great jeep. I have a truck and flatbed trailer and will deliver this jeep to you for $3.00 a mile from zip code 24136. If you live within 300 miles or so I can also drive the jeep to you for $2.00 a mile. If not pick up anytime is good. $500 Paypal after the auction closes and then cash or certified check on pickup. Title is clean with miles shown to be actual. Email with questions, I am fast to respond. Reserve is set low so the Jeep will sell. No emails please on the reserve amount. Thanks guys. Ebay’r since 1999. 100% positive. Safe Auction! On Aug-21-11 at 04:32:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Caught a mistake in my description. The jeep has a V-8 not a V-6. ThanksOn Aug-24-11 at 15:26:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I noticed in the pictures that the axle and frame look wet. We had just washed the engine compartment before the pics and the undercarrige was still wet. There are NO leaks causing the wet looking chassis. Thanks. Good Luck!
