Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon Wolfsburg Edition Westfalia. Being a W. E., it is a Weekender. It's 99.9% rust free, low miles, 71939 ( I do drive it work almost every day so miles will add a little) and in amazing shape. It is a 4-speed manual transmission WITH POWER STEERING AND AIR CONDITIONING. I replaced the fuel lines from the fuel tank to the injectors with the VanCafe kit. The clutch master and slave cylinder have been replaced as well as the Clutch hydraulic line so the clutch works perfectly now. The clutch itself is fairly new as well, replaced by the previous owner. I have a stack of receipts of for the work that was done on the van. The previous owner bought it, drove it for about 1000 miles and parked it for almost 5 yrs. It does have the removable fridge. I tried it plugged into 110V and it did not work. I haven't tried it with 12V. It's in nice shape but not sure who works on them. The main battery is new, the Aux battery needs to be replaced. It's still the original VW battery :) The gas cap is new with a key. Air filter, plugs and oil have just been replaced. I replace the intake boot since it had cracks in it. While I was at it, I replaced the Vacuum hoses as well. The Vanagon drives as nice as you could hope. drives straight, no noises. The interior is in really nice shape but it does have some wear. Not bad considering it's over 26yrs old though. the dash has some cracks in it, the notorious brown plastic trim pieces are faded and cracked. I replaced the rear view mirror with a mint black one since it was falling apart. That is one of the more common things with any VW that era. The seats have some tears in them, but not horrible and they aren't faded all that bad. The cushions are still in very nice shape, so getting them recovered shouldn't be to costly. The pop top works as it should. Nothing stuck or bent. The canvas is starting to show it's age a little with some minor tears on the driver's side. The front screen has seen better days. You have to remember that I am very picky about things and tend to over describe. Better too much info than too little! The top bed cushion is in great shape. I did order 2 new brown "Westfalia" stickers for the top, but somehow they got misplaced during our recent move. If I find them, I will include them. All the curtains are in nice shape and close nicely. I did replace some of the curtain hooks with pieces from VanCafe. It also has all the curtains for the front windows with working snaps as well as the screen pieces for the rear hatch and pop up window in the top.The front signals where cracked and the inside was black so I replaced them with new ones as well. The paint is really nice and shiny, Bronze beige metallic, with minor scratches. A good detailer should be able to buff them out for the most part. Again, I'm being picky. It's 26 yrs old. For the age it's amazing really. There is a small dent on the passenger side above the tail light. Seems to a common spot for them since it's kind of a blind spot for them. Not bad and not rusty. Rust. There pretty much isn't any. Very minor surface rust on the under carriage, nothing in the doors, rockers, etc... If you need more pics of certain areas, let me know!! No rust on the seams!! :) If you look at the pics, you will notice a light color difference on the passenger sider rear 1/3. It has been repainted there at one point. The carfax does not show and accident. There is no damage underneath that entire area. Whatever damage there was at one point has been repaired right. I have no information on that other than that. If you would like more pics or video of that area for reassurance, let me know and consider it done.I included a link to a ton of pics and even a little video. If you have ANY questions, please email me through ebay. I will answer all questions and take what ever pics you need of the Van. Here is what it "needs":The clock doesn't work....haven't seen one working in a long time, even the spare one I have doesn't work. The Gas Gauge doesn't work. I tried a spare with no luck so I'm guessing sending unit. Not too much $, just elbow grease :) It does have an exhaust leak by the front driver's side header but I have a replacement section and gaskets and will include it. Get it mounted and it's good. If you don't mind the extra noise and watching your fuel, you should be able to fly in and drive home :) I'm in Norfolk, Nebraska which is about 2 hrs from Omaha and Lincoln or 1.5hrs from Sioux City, Iowa.
