Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a very nice 1983 Honda CB1000 Custom. Very rare bike, has the hi/low transmission. Everything is all stock, all original, with exception of a few mechanical parts that have been replaced by the previous owner. It has very low miles, and has been babied and garage kept its entire life. It has not seen a drop of rain since I've had it. Shaft drive...tons of power and torque. Very good on gas. Gets roughly 45-50 mi/gal. Chrome is in great shape. There is a bit of rust on the exhaust by the ports, and a little on the bottom of the right exhaust where it forks, but very minimal. The only real noteable thing is the choke, very easy fix. The cable broke a couple of months ago, and I just haven't bothered to fix it because it usually starts up without it during warm weather. Visually, the bike looks stunning. Paint is still fairly glossy. No cracks or dents. There are just a couple of small dings in the paint on the right side of the tank, which you can see in one of the pictures. They are barely noticeable. Also the rubber bushing on the front right turn signal has a crack, but not noticeable unless you wiggle it. Also, very easy fix, or just leave it as is. Mechanically, it is top notch. No leaks. It was originally owned by a motorcycle mechanic who serviced it regularly and kept all of the records, along with notes of exactly what brands of fluids were put in, and reciepts of all parts replaced. These will also be included with the bike, along with the original service manual. I have not done anything to the bike since I bought it this past spring, I have put about 750 miles on it. It has very nice Michelin Commander tires on it, plenty of life left on them. Wiring is in great shape. Seat is flawless, with not so much as a pinhole. Newer break pads. All lights work. If anything, could probably use its annual tune-up. I don't think it had it before I bought it this spring. So many great things about this bike. Feel free to ask any questions. This is a great find, and very fun to ride. I love this bike, but I am selling because I have another project bike, and I feel this beauty deserves someone who will appreciate her and take good care of her. People who know these about these bikes know what they are worth, so I am starting at a higher opening bid to ensure serious buyers. Please note that I also plan on posting an ad locally, and reserve the right to cancel the auction, should someone make the right offer. Winning bidder is responsible for pick up, as I have no means of delivery. It's ready to go, so you can even drive it home! I also have a video that I posted on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMosR-ROa4c The video just doesn't do the bike justice, but you can still hear it start and run. Happy Bidding! Please note: You may notice some white residue around the emblems in the pictures...I believe it is actually wax that has not been previously wiped off. When taking a closer look, I was able to just rub it off. They are NOT defects or scratches. Also, per request, I have included two photos of the inside of the tank. Best I could do.
