Up for auction is a beautiful European made 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 S Sedan. This Benz has been garage kept and is extremely clean for it's age. It was my fathers and now is time to let her go. The exterior is in immaculate shape with a tiny bit of rust under the doors (see images). The original wood work is in great shape with a small amount of wood coming up in the corners of the dashboard. The leather interior is flawless except for one tiny 1" rip in the back seat. Stereo works. Air conditioning does not. All the doors and windows work fine. I tried to reinstall a door latch on the passenger side door yet the door still sticks out maybe 1/4 of an inch. Does not leak. Original carpeting in amazing condition. This is a straight 6 cylinder with a 2.8 liter engine. Two new carburetors have been installed. Brakes work perfectly. Transmission shifts flawlessly. The lights need to be replaced behind the gages because they don't light up at night. All the exterior lights work perfectly. There is a little gunk in the engine but i've been replacing the fuel filter to clean it out. Nothing troublesome just an old tank and by using premium fuel some sediment has risen. Fuel filters are only $4 and take 2 minutes to replace. I've driven the car almost 200 miles in the last two weeks to make sure everything is in perfect and reliable condition. I WOULD DRIVE THIS CAR CROSS COUNTRY no problem. All the belts are tight without cracks. all the fluid levels are stable and topped off. New spark plugs. There is a small minor leak in the power sterring fluid though nothing major. Radio works! Wheels are in like new condition with signature (flawless) hub caps. All gages are functioning properly. Again this car drives true, smooth and straight. It is in beautiful Condition. A few minor nicks on exterior. Original Paint. Key comes with a miniature hood ornament key chain. Title is clear.
