For sale is a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo LS, automatic transmission 4WD. The Rodeo runs but is in rough shape. I would fix this vehicle but the nearest Isuzu dealer is about 150 miles away and would probably cost a one or two thousand dollars to have everything fixed to be dependable. We had the local Ford dealer install a used 1200 dollar transmission in 2008 that had 120000 miles on it. Ever since the newer transmission was installed there has been a short in wiring somewhere that makes the headlights come on and drain power to the battery. I had to take out the fuse to the headlights to retain power in the battery when the car was not running. The battery included is not guaranteed to work once it's recharged. The vehicle has been sitting for about a year with treated gas, and started right up today (August 7, 2011) and remained running when I switched batteries. Also, the tires and carpet are not in good condition and may have to be replaced. The gas level sending unit is faulty so the gas light is always coming on. There is some front end noise which may be a bad wheel bearing and/or bad cv joints. The body has some rust and small dings here and there but for the most part the doors and panels are usable for parts. I am hoping to get the money back a spent on the transmission and market this to someone with access to Isuzu parts, an owner of another similar vechicle or someone with mechanical skills to fix it affordably. It could be a good parts car or fixer upper. This could be good deal for someone who has a way to fix the following: 1. Power drain issue. 2. Front end problems. 3. New tires. 4. Rear door latch needs fixed. Interior panel on rear door is cracked. 5. Possibly needs new battery. 6. Air conditioning doesn't work. Buyer is responsible for all pickup or shipping details and costs. Vehicle does not have sunroof.
