Vehicle Detail

1971 Ford Torino GT- Orig. "F" code (302-2bbl) V8. C4 auto trans w/ floor shift.9" rear w/3:00 open diff and 28 spline axles. Non A/C car. Power steering, power brakes ( 4wh. drum ), orig. hood scoop, non-shaker style. Blue/black exterior paint, white/blue interior. White factory bucket seats, blue carpet, blue headliner(no tears), dash pad is black and is in fair/good condition for its age, it has 1 med/large crack above speedo but not raised, could be filled and covered smooth, and has 2 other small cracks( seen in pics ). Front buckets are in fair cond. Mid sections are solid, but seams are torn. Door panels are white, have speakers, left arm rest is cracked, right is perfect. All glass is good, no cracks/chips.Classic Concorde AM/FM Cassette pullout stereo w/Kenwood amp in trunk, 6x9 speakers in rear deck, 5" in doors. Car is in "driver" condition. Brakes were gone through, all 4 wheel cylinders replace with "new" units along with hardware kits. Carpet is in okay condition, worn and needs replacing. Car orig had a center console around floorshift, but console is no longer in vehicle. Some previous owner really loved the movie E.T. This Torino has been named "E.T's G.T." as seen on the front fenders by the doors, lettered in pink pinstripe. The paint is Blue and Black moving into a painted mural of the bicycle scene on both rear quarters and deck lid. Passanger door and right qtr. panel have some damage from what appears to be a parking post, both are repairable. Some minor rust in front of rear wheel wells and at bottom of doors, drivers toe boards, but all are repairable from what I have been told from a local body shop. All the chrome trim is complete and in good condition around front windshild and rear window and side glass. with some minor pitting. Rear Honeycomb panels on deck lid are in good condition as is the complete taillight assy, no cracks or chips in taillight assy. Both bumpers are straight but need rechroming. Front grill is in OK condition, center logo is missing, but I may have a spare, will look in my storage. Front aprons are in good condition as is core support and have no wrinkles, does not appear to have ever been damaged. As stated above, this was originally equipped as a 302-2bbl V-8, now has a 351-C V-8, w/2V heads, but has a factory cast iron 4V intake manifold with a 600cfm Holley Carb, which was rebuilt back in Feb.2011. It apprears this engine has been in the car for many years .Engine runs good, smooth, no leaks, ticks, knocks and does not smoke or appear to use any oil. I have been driving this car around town for the past 6-7 months with no issues. Trans is a C-4 auto, shifts good with no issues other than a leak from the selector shaft seal on side. Trans has a shift kit installed and has a very firm shift from 1-2 and 2-3. No leaks or noises from the 9"rear end either. Knock on wood, the power steering does not even leak. Front suspension is okay, no squeeks or clunks and goes down the road pretty good for a 40 year old survivor, rear has old school Lakewood Traction bars also.Speedo reads 61,224 miles, but I would have to assume it is 161,224 as I cannot say for sure. This Torino is currently registered in California and has a clear title, no salvage.Until Jan. 2011, the last time this car was registered and driven was 9/1994-1995, so it has been off the road for the last 15 years. This survivor is in pretty good shape being 40 years old, and was probable stored inside as the paint is still very bright with no fading or cracking, probable a good old fashion lacquer paint. I purchased this Torino to fix up and have fun with, but I have found a much more desirable Cobra model to play with, so this one has to go. While this car is drivable, it could use new tires, they have good tread but are cracked and a bit dry, I would not try to drive any extended time at freeway speeds, so I recommend trailering or shipping to your location. I will store vehicle for up to 4 weeks after payment in full is made while you make transportation arraignments. A $500.00 deposit is required within 24 hours of the winning bid and balance due within 7 days. Neither car or paperwork will be handed over until payment transaction is completed and all fund are in my possession Please feel free to email with any questions, I will do my best to answer to the best of my ability. Thanks and Good Luck..
