Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This 1966 Eldorado Convertible is one of 2,250 made. This is NOT a more common Deville. This incredible California Car is extraordinary for the following: It is rock solid and 97% rust free, is loaded, complete, and it has been terrifically maintained to run and drive as if it were still 1966. I would not hesitate to drive this across country if a newer set of tires were installed. This is the finest and most rock solid example of a California car I have come across in forever. The car was originally the rare Florentine Firemist, but it has one repaint over the factory lacquer with a bright reddish orange. It has a custom brown (000 trim on trim tag) interior and the brown top. The top has been changed to white at some point but the top is not in great condition and could be replaced. I drive it with the top down so it does not bother me but to be show, one would want a brand new top installed. This Caddy offers the original matching number drivetrain and a time capsule engine compartment including the ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA SMOG EQUIPMENT! Caddy enthusiasts should note that even the master cylinder retainer is there. The 429 Cubic Inch V8 runs smooth and has been tuned up with cap, plugs, points, rotor and wires. Fluids are changed, brakes have been done and new wheel bearings installed. The car is mechanically excellent, starts better than any other 40+ year old car I have owned and accelerates evenly and shifts smoothly. I have included a Photobucket link with over 150 pictures in high resolution including the perfect and rock solid trunk, floors, undercarriage and frame. All padding has been removed from the trunk exposing the sound deadener and pink adhesive and a great deal of the original Florentine Firemist. Small traces of ‘desert rust’ can be found on the leading edge of the hood (repair or replace with any 66 Caddy hood) the rear edge of the deck lid (repairable) the header bow on the top (replaceable) and on the driver’s skirt the forward bolt hole bracket needs a small amount of rust repair totaling about 3-4 sq. inches. Chrome bumpers have some haze and surface rust but are all solid cores should you want to re-chrome. All glass is tinted and dated to the car. Windows go up and down, power locks work perfect. All brightwork is A to A+++ condition, Teak on the doors is good to excellent, and dash pad needs refinished by Just Dashes or another firm which can make the dash as good as new. Carpet and pad is original. AC does not blow cold and should be charged but is ALL THERE. This car is the ultimate driver that turns heads at the shows as well. Drive her or restore her, but you can take your time since the 10 foot paint job, although faded in spots and showing chips, should provide many years of service. I have the spare and jack, as well as the spare cover and parts of the original trunk liner. The car passes inspection here in New York State and comes with a clean California Pink Title. I cannot store the car over the winter so she must be sold. Any questions please call my direct cell 518-376-5161. I am 3 hours from the ports in New York for international buyers. All funds must clear before car leaves. Bid with confidence, my feedback is perfect and I am easily reachable to discuss the car. Here are the options I identified on the car: Air conditioner $495 Controlled differential $54 Cruise Control $97 Door guards on two-door models $4 Soft Ray tinted glass $52 License plate frame $6 Power door locks $46 Power headlight control $51 Power vent window regulator option $73 Radio with rear speaker and remote control$ 246 AM/FM radio $191 The new seat warmer $60.20 Rear seat belts $18 Adjustable steering wheel $91 (tilt/telescopic) Twilight Sentinel -standard Five white sidewall tires 9.00 x 15 size with four-ply construction standardPower Seat YES, that includes the AM/FM Stereo (see the dash) and the HEATED SEAT options! I am very proud of this car and want to show all the nooks and crannies that some sellers won’t show. See the original door jambs and door bottoms, frame, trunk (the pink color is adhesive, not rust) and spots where the small touches of rust need attention. There is no hiding any damage or rot n this car because there isn't any. Other than the repaint and color change this is an unmolested survivor that spent 46 years in California with a period of time in Nevada according to the previous owner.
