If you are in the market for a reliable diesel truck with some space to haul the kids or dogs and up to 20 MPG’s then I don’t think there is a better truck on the market than this. This is a very unique truck being a 1998 Ram 2500 Quad Cab Short bed with the all-mechanical 12 Valve Cummins engine. They only made this truck in that particular combination for a few months and most of them by now are beat up or have a trillion miles on them. My truck is very well cared for with all the right service done to it and it’s in great cosmetic shape and best of all my asking price won’t break the bank. Read on for a full description. Mechanically this truck is very sound. Starts up smooth with no smoke or hesitation. The batteries were replaced last winter. No leaks anywhere. The previous owner traded it in at my dealership on a newer 5-Speed truck. He told me he also just did the killer dow pin update and new front cover and seal (40 Hour job), this is something all 12 valves will need at some point, thank goodness it’s been done! The transmission was redone a few years back and it’s shifting strong, crisp shifts and the fluid looks and smells great. 4X4 works well. A/c works well and all power options are working. Tires are matching Goodyear with about 50% tread. There are no engine modifications, 100% stock. No rust underneath or on top. This truck has been a personal driver not an abused hauling truck or commercially used vehicle and it shows. Has a current PA state inspection. Cosmetically this truck is in great shape for the year and mileage. Paint shines well with no fade out or issues. It is 13 years old so there are a few light scratches and tiny door dings here and there but no major dents or damage anywhere. One notable scratch on the drivers door that I touched up a few inches long. It looks presentable but not perfect. Bumpers, lenses and moldings are all in good shape. Wheel are nice with no dents or pealing. The interior is in the same shape, very good overall. No burns, stains or damage to mention. The dash is clean and nice without cracks. A/c and all options work great, has an aftermarket CD player. Carpets, headliner and upholstery and all very nice.
