Hello there fellow eBayers’ and VW Beetle fans fans! Today I am listing a 2000 VW Beetle GLS with the 1.9 TDI diesel engine and 5-speed manual transmission. The car has 194,300 miles on it. I bought it as a project to fix up and let one of my daughters drive. Unfortunately, this repairs are a little more than I bargained for, and to be honest, outside my skill level. The car runs and drives. But that being said it is not a driver. It is more of a parts vehicle, unless you are mechanical and can make the necessary repairs to get it back on the road. The car starts, but idles really rough. I thought maybe it was a bad fuel filter or fuel injector, but I believe it is more than that. I believe there is an internal problem with the engine. It smokes a bit when it first starts, then it seems to clear up OK, but still runs rough. The transmission works, but it will need to be replaced as well. It pops out of gear 5th gear on the highway. I guess if you just drove it in town it would be OK. The clutch works, but it will need replaced as well. The car has power windows and locks, and both work fine. It has a factory 6 CD changer in the trunk and it works as well. Interior has a few blemishes, but overall pretty good shape considering the miles on the car. The driver side panel material is coming off as you can see in the pictures. The body has a few dents and dings, which I have done my best to take pictures of. I hate to part this car out, because someone with the right skills could get this car back on the road. However, if you are someone that would have to pay for the repairs at a shop, I don’t believe it would be worth the effort. Tires are average, and there is a spare on the factory steel wheel. Car is NOT drivable home it will need to be tailored. I have a clear Illinois title in hand for the winning bidder. The vehicle is located in Riverton, IL 62561 and must be picked up here unless other arrangements are made PRIOR to the end of the auction. I am willing to help with your transportation company, but all arrangements and fees are your responsibility. I am also willing to deliver the Tracker up to 250 miles for a $1.50 per mile. I require a $250 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction. I will accept PayPal for the deposit, but the balance must be paid for in cash (in person only).
