For sale is my 1985 635CSi. With distinctive styling the sharknose 635 is regarded as one of the contemporary classics. It well powered with a smooth inline 6 cylinder mated to the optional 5 speed manual. I have known the first two owners of this car, which accounts for the first 15 years or so. The second, and longest term owner, worked at a BMW dealership and so it benefited from the care it received there. Under his ownership the car received a slightly stiffer set of springs and sport Bilsteins all around, and had a complete engine rebuild at around 100k and to date this car uses almost no oil and leaves no spots on the ground. Since I have owned the car I have used it as daily transport and have changed the oil and filter religiously, using Motul oil, which is a really quality product. The car rides on a new set of Continental DWS ties all around and I have just bought a new spare wheel for the car, as it was missing when I got it, and it will come with a newly mounted tire at the time of sale. The wheels are a nice set of alloys, with little to no scuffing. All the tools are there, including the jack and all the fiddley stuff that normally gets lost over time. I also changed all the hoses and belts earlier in the year and, as you will see in the pictures, I have just mounted a new exhaust system from the cat back within the last month. There is a new oil filter, some gutter plugs and a new set of window switches that come with the car, as the left rear window switch is becoming a little tempermental and I decided that it would be good to replace all of them at once. I also put brand new bumper corners on the car to replace the warped ones that came with the car. The rear shelf speaker covers were warped as the all do over time being exposed to sunlight, and I have a new replacement for the left one, not as yet the right cover, but they are available from BMW Mobile Tradition, that offers parts support to the older cars. The leather interior has no tears in the seats and they operate for height, rake and depth exactly as designed. The carpet on the interior is in excellent condition although the headlining is starting to look old, no tears or sagging, but a bit dirt and a bit tatty, so I have just bought a brand new one and it will be included in the sale, still in its box from World Upholstery and Trim, the best source. The front and rear badging is new on the car and looks great. Currently the a/c is inoperable thanks to a seized compressor, which will need to be replaced. The sppdometer/odometer is also inop. Its stopped at 142119 and the title reflects the not actual mileage. I would estimate the car has around 160k miles on it. The paint is good overall, but there are some nicks and small dents here and there, as would be expected from a 26 year old car. There is some rust in the left rear wheel arch lip, which I have shown in the photos, otherwise the car looks good. The front splitter was beyond help when I got the car, and so a new one is included in the sale. All the onwers manuals and books come with the car as new. To summerise, this is a really nice honest driver that has the more desirable manual gearbox and suspension set up. It goes like a train and uses no oil and doesn't smoke. Its not a show car, but would be a good basis for one with paint and a little tlc. Its never let me down and has been a joy to drive.
