Vehicle Detail
I am re-listing my 1971 Porsche 914 because of a non paying buyer! I originally built this car to drive it on the street and race it on the weekends. Since the car was almost completely rust free, other than the bottom edge of the front bumper and the tub did not appear to have any accident or rust damage, I decided it would be the perfect car to use. I stripped the car to the bare tub and removed all the weight I could. I adding a four point roll bar. The bar is attached to the chassis at the corners where it is the strongest. The bar also helps add torsional strength to the Porsche tub. I replaced the front and rear light assemblies to save weight and improve aerodynamics. I installed new wiring with a modern style fuse and relay board to save weight and eliminate the common Porsche electrical issues. I added a small custom aluminum dash for the gauges and switches. I lightened the doors and added fiberglass door panels. The stock gas tank was removed and I added a RCI aluminum fuel cell. I moved the battery to the right front where the old gas tank used to be. I installed a flat floor pan to accept high performance seats. I added new high performance brake pads and rebuilt the calipers. I added HD long wheel studs and lug nuts in place of the factory wheel bolts. I bought front and rear braided steel brake lines, the fronts are installed, but I haven't installed the rears. I drove it for a while with a modified the 1.7 liter engine. It was fun and drove great, but I wanted more performance, so I started to build a 2.2 liter turbo Porsche engine for it. Then I changed jobs and have not had the time to work on it since. I sold the 1.7 liter engine to help pay for the turbo engine. My new job hasn't left me time to finish the new engine, so I ended up selling the turbo engine also. Now it's time to sell the car. It was a running, driving car when I pulled the engine out, so all you should need to do is install some seats, your engine, and you should be ready to go. It comes with the Porsche factory five speed transmission and the linkage, clutch cable, fuel lines, throttle cable, wiring, nearly new mini lite style wheels and tires. You will need to install a battery and a few other minor items I am forgetting. You are bidding on the car just as it it pictured. It is not a running car, it needs to have an engine, battery and seats installed. I Have the CA title and the car is registered non-opp so there are no back DMV fees. I have this car for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this listing early. Thanks for looking good luck bidding.
