1970 240z Datsun Up for auction is my very clean and reliable series one 240z Datsun. This beauty was built October of 1970 and first titled in California in 1971. Car has never left the state and always stored indoors, it is very solid and rust-free. As you can see from the pics most of the restoration has already been completed. Engine, transmission, and differential were all rebuilt last year and have about 1,000 miles on them. Engine is an L24 with a few mods; slightly bored out with performance pistons, milled E88 head, Jun stage 2 cam, electronic ignition, Magnaflow exhaust, and a few other mods. Smooth shifting original 4 speed trans with Centerforce clutch and 280zx LSD differential. Engine starts every time, doesn't overheat, and runs perfect at all speeds. This car is truely a dream to drive and turns heads wherever I go. It sounds amazing and flys on the highway. The car was painted back to it's original factory color about 2 months ago. I paid $3,000 for paint and had all the glass removed as well. All original sheet metal with no bondo and previous accidents. Has new weatherstripping on the windshield and hatch glass, door weatherstripping is good as well and the rear hatch to body seal was ordered last week from Motorsports Z in Orange, I should have it installed before the listing ends. Interior is pretty original and looks good but still needs a couple finishing touches. The seats have a few minor rips from over the years, original dash is cracked like all Z's but now has a dash cap, car also has an aftermarket CD player. I was going to install and original radio and hide the aftermarket one in the glove box but never got around to doing it. All dash gauges, lights, and electrical work great. All original glass in perfect shape and windows roll up and down fine. The steering column plastic cover had a crack so I removed it and ordered and new one as well, should be getting it in the mail any day now. I have the original bumpers as well and they are included with the car, I just didn't wanna install them because I wanted to get them re-chromed. The buyer will need to get them chromed to make them look new again. I was told by the previous owner that the A/C system the car has was a dealership option back in the 70's. It's a Frigette Custom unit and runs on R12 refrigerent. It needs to be recharged again because it only blows slightly cool. The seatbelts in the car are also very rare, they are original Takata shoulder & lap belts built especially for vintage 240z. I really love this Z and I'd hate to see it go but I currently need the money to finish another project car. It just needs a few finishing touches to make it a show car or it can just be enjoyed the way it is.
