1953 Chevrolet Carry All Suburban BARN FIND!! ******************************************** Very nice condition 53 Chevy Suburban. Great restoration or hot rod project. Runs & Drives. Does need some brake work but good enough for a test drive. Would not suggest driving it home due to brakes and it is hooked up to a temperary fuel supply. We have not checked tank and didn't want to risk getting motor trashed up so installed small tank under hood for now. Original tank is still under the body. Exterior is in fair shape and seems to be fairly straight with minimal rust. 9See Pics) Fenders have been moulded in to body but dont think it was welded due to cracks at the joining places of fender to body. There are two real deal gunshots on the drivers side panel and same side running board.(See Pics) All glass is good asnd looks to be close to new. paint is peeling in a couple spots on body. (See Pics) Has a HELMS push bar mounted to the front end. Interior has a single blue bench seat with no rear seats but loads of cargo room. Dash is stock and shifter is in the floor for the three speed manual transmission. Black Carpet. headliner in it but sagging. Engine is what looks to be a later model 235 CI Chevy with threes speed trans. Has been converted to a 12 volt system with GM altenator. Stock manifolds with a split pipe dual exhaust. Open drive line to a Chrysler rearend. Brakes are still manual drum. Front is still factory 6 lug and rear is 5 lug. Under carriage is solid as a rock.
