I think what makes this Jeep unique is that it drives at 65 mph on the Interstate super smooth. With the original suspension and new tires, this Jeep is a pleasure to drive. I just drove this Jeep back from Raleigh, NC to Pembroke, VA. That was close to 300 miles. Interstate 95, 40, 77, and 81. Not to mention that it was a 95 degree day. No problems. I was amazed to get 18 mpg also. The 304 V8 runs around 2400 rpms when running 65-70 mph. Effortlessly at that. This Jeep has a great drivetrain and suspension. Super tight powersteering. Nice when on the interstate. You don’t have to chase the steering wheel from line to line. Drives nice and straight. One hand on the wheel at 65 mph is no problem. 60 mph seems to be at the low end of the 3 speed so gas mileage will be 20 mph if daily driving at this speed. Around 2100 rpms. The headlights and taillights work fine. The blinker is on a toggle switch and is easy to use. The gauges will need to be replaced eventually. Most are original. Winshield is cracked and needs replaced. Body is in great condition as you can see. Never rolled or wrinkled. Smooth lines. Rust areas on the body are minimal for this year jeep. The floorpans and tub have rust consistent with this year jeep. Has years before it must be addressed but if you are buying to keep, it should be in the long term plans to repair. If you are familiar with jeeps you are familiar where they rust. One of the tub mounts has a patch on it and is holding up well. Tires are new and high quality. They are Mickey Thompson 31x10.5’s. Matching and well balanced. The seats in this jeep are amazing for being original. I would give credit to this Jeep being kept under roof for most of its life. This jeep even has the original zippered roll bar cover. Right now the rear seat is not mounted so you can take it out to haul gear. I put it in to ride my kids around the property here. See the picture with all of us piled in. Tons of fun. The motor is a rebuilt 304 with tremendous power. Headers with throaty mufflers that are turned down just before the rear axle. When you fire it up you cant help but smile at the sound of the horsepower you are sitting on. Amazing mpg’s for the power also. I am selling because I want to buy a CJ-8 Scrambler.
