One of the prettiest cars ever made was the Jaguar XKE in the desirable Regency Red color code. This car had been driven and garaged for the last 29 years and has been off road for the past 5 years. Prior owner had owned it since 1982 It is a complete numbers matching car and has had a great deal of care for her through the years....2+2 Body has been well maintained her whole life. Frame is solid. Floor pans are original and solid. Original Seat belts. Original radio. Original gauges. Still has her original drivetrain....ALL NUMBERS MATCHING.... Car has very low original 41,440 miles on her. It will come with 3-4 boxes of extra parts in the trunk. (Chrome, light covers etc....) DIAL (352)- FIVE ONE FOUR- 6332 with questions/offers The work that's been done through the years include: - rebuilt tie rods - rebuilt ball joints - gas tank was boiled out and coated - rebuilt carbeurator - rebuilt fuel pump - All front and rear seats have been completely refinished Car comes equipped with Factory A/C and an ultra rare Factory (or dealer installed Webasto Sunroof) ... I included a link from Jaguar Forums and give credit to author: WIlliam Brady...who stated on the Forum back in 2005 The Webasto roof you have could easily have been fitted new and virttually all of them were. It was an option offered at the time of order -remember, other than the USA- cars were ordered months in advance and could have any number of "extras fitted" including custom paint. Webasto had a main facility in West London but they also had a plant in Derby as I went there with my Uncle to check on the progress of his 1962 Mk 2 which was being fitted with a gold coloured roof to match the car. He collected the car at the dealer some time later. Many of the higher quality car manufacturers "sublet" custom fitting. Mercedes had a Webasto installation plant on the factory grounds. The term "factory installed" is over used. Sometimes upgrades were done after the cars was sold, a good example is the air Cond fitted to E types at major dealers in the USA. The "factory" sent a team of installers to various locations (Hornburg in LA was one) specifically to retrofit air conditioning. These were NOT factory installed but fitted by Factory Trained technicians to new cars! Are they original? Far too much focus is placed upon originality in production built cars. Virtually all high quality British cars were custom ordered (bespoke) as owners wanted their car to be personal. Jaguar affectionado and etc. Car was primed but needed sanding because the bare metal was exposed in spots to light surface rust so a thin layer of the correct Regency Red Urethane ($212 a gallon) was added... but it has not yet been clearcoated. It is the correct color for this car, made to exact Jaguar standards . Additional coats can be added and then sealed with clear coat. It does appear the car was once painted primrose yellow...It appears most everything is in place, may be needing new gaskets, tires, usual stuff for a restore. A few small holes under spare tire area floor, hood and minor body ding on rear left fender. No accidents. Car is priced very well for a solid, original XKE with custom features.....Be the ONLY ONE ON YOUR BLOCK to own an XKE like this....Clean title. HAVE POTENTIAL FRONT END IS MOSTLY MISSING, RUSTED OUT OR CUT IN AREAS....BUT THIS CHASSIS DOES ...EXTEND TO FRONT AXLE SO CAR WILL ROLL AND STEER ON ALL 4's ON ITS OWN ... NO TITLE, NO INTERIOR, NO DRIVETRAIN, NO BODY TAGS, NO FRONT FENDERS. This is a salvage vehicle and is being sold for parts only. It is not operational or street legal.
