Vehicle Detail

A very well preserved original car, this '67 Riviera shows only 65,000 miles, believed to be genuine. The elegant color combination gives this daring design real presence as it floats down the road. It is in excellent mechanical condition, the new for '67 430 V8, rated at360HP at 5000RPM and 475-lbs.ft of torque at 3200RPM provides surprising performance in such a large luxury vehicle with no smoke or unwelcome noises. The Super Turbine 400 transmission has the factory variable ratio "Switch Pitch" torque converter. Jim Bell, president of Kenne Bell of Rancho Cucamonga, California, and an expert in high-performance Buick V-8s, is a big fan of the Switch-Pitch torque converter. "It gives you all the advantages of a high-stall torque converter with none of the disadvantages," he says. The interior is very clean, the condition of the steering wheel, drivers seat, brake pedal etc would tend to support the low mileage. It has PS, PB, PW, tilt column, and AC that has had the belt disconnected. Autosport Magazine's John Bolster, no lover of American cars, wrote in 1967 that the Riviera ''gives a combination of sheer performance with extreme smoothness and silence which is unequalled''. While expensive restored examples are available, unrestored original cars are becoming rarer by the day, their scarcity is likely to ensure appreciating values. This car has one small dent pictured behind the drivers side front tire, very slight, it is needing a stereo or the original radio as it is missing. The dash was not altered in any way when the radio was removed. It remains completely original. This car drives unbelievably nice, it has a flame thrower ignition coil, and a custom aircleaner, and somehow retained the original tower radiator hose clamps it came with from the factory, something rarely seen! This is a very rust free car and the undercarriage is exceptionally clean as shown in pics. This Riviera is listed with a low reserve and the high bidder is expected to abide by the following terms :$500 deposit within 48 hours and balance inside 7 days of auction close.
