1989 FORD MUSTANG LX I have decided that it is time to down size my car collection. Up for sale is my 1989 Ford Mustang LX. It has the factory 5.0L and 5 Speed maual transmission. This car runs GREAT!! I would trust it to drive anywhere. I have a clear title in hand. It has the typical Air Conditioning, Power Windows, Power Locks, Radio/Cassett, Tilt/Cruise. The odometer shos approx. 110,000 miles which I believe to be accurate. I will go through each area and try my best to point out any flaws. Please remember that this car is over 20 years old. Therefore, it is being sold AS-IS-WHERE-IS with NO warranties expressed or implied. Body/Frame: The body on this car is near perfect. For being a Mid-West car its entire life, it is amaingly RUST-FREE!!! There is not a single rust bubble anywhere on this car. I has never seen winter road time to my klnowledge. (I am the 3rd owner, my brother was the 2nd and the original owner state that it had not) Also, it does not appear to have any dents or dings of any signficance that I can see. Paint: This car still wears its original paint and because it is over 20 years old, it is showing its age. The paint is thin on the roof and rear roof pillars. Due to the excellent condition of the boy, I believe it would be a fairly simple re-paint. Interior: The itnerior is in good shape for its age. There are no rips, tears, or stains. A couple of the plastic trim pieces have been broken and could use to be replaced (Door sill plates, seat belt guards, etc.) I ahve found a website that sells these parts very reasonably. The headliner doe not sag. The only other issue with the interior is that the seat tops in the back show signs of sun-fading. Wheels/Tires: Wheels are factory LX Mustang wheels. 1 Wheel ahs a small ding on the outside. It has not affected the tire seal al all. Tires are stock sized and have about 20% of tread remaining. Engine/Exhaust: The engine runs very smoothly and appears to be in excellent condition. I have a folder full of receipts from teh original owner for oil changes and general maintenance from when he owned it. The only modification tha twas done to the care before I purchased it was under drive pulleys. In the last year, I have installed Hedman shorty headers, an off road H-pipe, Dynomax Race Bullit mufflers, and full 2.5" exhaust. This thing sounds Excellent!!! **Note- there is a small leak in the drivers side valve cover gasket. I have the gasket, as well as the upper intake gasket. I will attempt to have this changed before pick-up. However, if I can not get to it, I will include gaskets with the sale. **Note- The Air Conditioning works, but needs to be recharged. Transmission/Rear End: Clutch, transmission, and rear end all appear to be in good condition. Transmission shifts smoothly. Teh clutch does not slip and the rear end does not make any noise or leak. Teh speedometer cable needs to be replaced as it squiiks when it is cold (this can be annoying). All components are completely stock. I would guess rear gear ration to be 2.73 or 3.08.
