Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a nice, low mileage classic Honda CL350 Scrambler. I am the second owner and bought it about 3 years ago when it had about 4,800 miles from the original owner. It runs & shifts great and everything works as it should. It comes with the original owner’s manual, fuse package, tool kit, both keys and original 1971 license plate. If you register it in Missouri, it can be licensed as a historical vehicle! I have replaced nearly all of the rubber parts: battery strap, tail light mounts, tank mount, foot pegs and toe shifter rubber with genuine Honda NOS parts. The battery was replaced about 2 years ago. The carbs were rebuilt by Wired George in Texas. Partial list of NOS (new old stock) Honda parts: both carb manifolds, both air filters, condenser, breaker plate, both points, both mirrors, the left handlebar switch is NOS. The condition of the motorcycle pretty good considering it is 40 years old. This is a daily rider or just for “showing off” where people with old cars and motorcycles gather. It is a “head turner” but it is NOT a museum condition or collector’s bike. I start and ride the 350 scrambler at least once each week. I took pictures of what it looks like with the original blue tank. The blue tank is in good solid condition with original paint, but after sitting for two years there is some slight surface rust inside. It can be easily cleaned and reinstalled on the Honda. Note: The red tank is what I use to run the Honda. It is a NOS 1973 Honda CL350 tank (with original shipping box). You could paint the red tank to match the bike. It came in the original shipping carton and is perfect inside. The passenger foot pegs are solid but weather checked and need to be replaced. The tires have good tread but also have slight weather checking and should be replaced if you were going to do some serious long distance riding. I won't ship the motorcycle but will work with your shipper - this is very easy to do. Yes the seat looks like new - but it has been recovered by a shop (I can get the name if you want it) in Oregon that restores old Honda motorcycle seats. There is NO rust on the seat pan. I can't find any rust on the pipes or mufflers - there are a couple of light scuffs on the rear part of the heat sheilds and a tiny ding on the top muffler near the had lift bar. I have no idea what mileage it gets but would guess over 50 mpg. I fill it up each month and drive it several times, then dump the gas into my riding mower. I paid over $240 to have the carbs rebuilt so I keep fresh gas in it. Yes, the sticker on the fork is a current Missouri safety sticker (April 2011) - and it passed all tests. I have both NOS gaskets for the right side (case cover and oil filter cover) and NOS screws for the oil filter cover. I was going to have the case polished but have already invested way too much money. Besides - it looks and runs like a 40 year old should!
