Vehicle Detail

Ferrari/Porsche/Microcar Club member and marque owner is selling this 1969 Autobianchi Bianchina. This car, in the same condition as presented here, sold at the RM Monterey Auction in August, 2007, for $27,500 (Lot 22). The RM catalogue description is included in my photos and can be seen here:http://www.rmauctions.com/auctionresults.cfm?SaleCode=MO07#My reserve and minimum bid is $15,000. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a lovely, fun to drive, driver quality Autobianchi Bianchina at an excellent price. The car starts immediately and runs well, shifts smoothly. Oil and brake fluid changed in June, 2011, by a leading Ferrari shop. The underside of the car is clean and firm, with no apparent leaks, but shows surface rust in a few spots. Bushings are dry but solid. The exterior teal blue paint is driver quality, with some flaws probably not visible in the photos. It's cute, but not a show car. The car is titled in Maryland and of course can be driven on the street. The odometer shows 64,336; I assume it reads in kilometers, and have converted to miles for the purposes of eBay's mileage requirement. I have no reason to think the odometer is incorrect, but I don't trust the odometers on these old cars. Unfortunately, I did not receive any service receipts when I purchased the car. There are no books. As the car is based on the Fiat 500, parts are readily available.I am selling the car simply because I have too many microcars and no time to drive them. This car has been driven very little since we acquired it from RM in 2007.The car is available for inspection by appointment in the Montgomery County, Maryland area (just outside of the Washington, DC beltway). I welcome and prefer a PPI. Buyer pays for shipping. Payment may be by cash, certified bank check, wire transfer to bank account, or personal check once cleared. The buyer must submit a 10% of purchase price deposit within 72 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle unless this requirement is waived in writing by the seller after the auction end. Buyer agrees to pay the remaining balance due within 7 days after the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle. Based on the age of the car I cannot warrant odometer readings or specific year, make and model. Please remember that an eBay bid is a binding legal contract, not an intention to consider purchase. Buyer is responsible (if applicable) for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered in. Vehicle is sold "as is" and has no warranties, express or implied. On Jun-30-11 at 14:44:31 PDT, seller added the following information: THIS CAR HAS A 2 CYLINDER ENGINE. I mistakenly checked 4 cylinders, I apologize! I still don't know how I made such a basic mistake. Thank you to the eBay member who caught my error! On Jun-30-11 at 14:58:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Correction - eBay tells me that their system automatically listed the car as a 4 cylinder - not my error. That doesn't help bidders, but makes me feel better. I am sending messages to the current bidders. Unfortunately, the 4 cylinder engine description can't be changed. On Jul-02-11 at 08:53:29 PDT, seller added the following information: MORE ENGINE INFORMATION: A prospective bidder asked for the engine type and serial number. A stamp on the engine reads as follows: FIAT 126A500 4497608 Although the question wasn't asked, I have no idea whether this is the correct engine for the car. RM's description doesn't note an engine change, but I've seen errors in auction catalogues! On Jul-02-11 at 09:11:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Found a listing of Fiat 500 engine serial numbers here: http://www.fiat500valdelsa.it/Download/Numeroditelaio.pdf If this is correct, it looks like the Type 126 engine was used beginning in 1972 for the more powerful (relatively speaking, of course) Fiat 500R, making it an upgrade for the car in this listing. This is conjecture on my part, but I thought I should share it.
