Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1989 944 Turbo. As many of you know in 1989 porsche dropped the "S" designation making all the 89' turbos standard with the S features(M030 adjustable suspension, the more powerful KKK 26/8 turbo charger, and the big brake package from the 928 S4). Basically, the 1989 944 turbo is the year to have. Furthermore, this car has been maintained for over 15 years by one of the best Porsche Mechanics in the US( name given upon request). He is factory trained, has served as the Porsche Club of America Director for water-cooled Porsches and has been on the board for over a decade. This car has been beautifully maintained and is extremely solid. Hands down I can say this is not the average 944 turbo. Additionally the car has numerous upgrades including chips from a legendary 944 turbo cup car, the Lindsey Racing instant RWHP kit (includes shimmed waste gates, boost enhancer, Bosch 3.0 bar fuel regulator), a machined race head, a hollowed cat and a lightened interior (racing door panels and no cassette box). The previous owner dyno'ed the car and it made a little over 300 rwhp (which is without the machined head). This car might not have an exuberant amount of horsepower but it is light enough to pull down new mustang gt's, sti's, evo's, and just about any other car I have run across. Furthermore, I have never had a problem scaring the bajesus out of ANY passenger. The car is FAST. Overall I give it an A-. Its not perfect but it runs like hell and is a blast to drive. Its not a show car but it is something to be proud of. This car is a true testament to Porsche's superiority even after 22 years. The good: Brand new tires w/ alignment less than 400 miles New thermostat and coolant and lower radiator hose Less than 400 miles= no trouble in hot weather Brand new machined head with less than 400 miles New gears in sunroof New gears in odometer All new gaskets on top half of engine including a wide fire head gasket and new exhaust gaskets. done less than 400 miles ago Performance brake pads with plenty of meat All vacuum hoses replaced, new rotors, radiator, oil pan gasket, power steering seal kit, power steering pump rebuild in 2005 New passenger side half shaft less 1000 miles New speakers (infinity in doors, and unknown in back but the system sounds good) wiring harness already installed for an amp and speakers to the far back. big brake package with abs air bags New timing belt last summer (about 3,000 miles ago) New Paint (arena Red in 1996)- a little cloudy/ needs a good wax. 944 s2 wing upgrade The bad: The Car has an small oil leak coming from the oil cooler gasket- My porsche mechanic quoted it at 400 hundred dollars which would include an oil and coolant change. ( The car can be lightly driven all day with it losing 4 oz of oil) rear windshield wiper and dash lighter does not work (motor wires cut) hood and hatch shocks are old A little wear on drivers seat and some small cracks in dash board but the interior is in surprisingly good shape for the cars age( expected 944 issues) windshield wiper cleaner does not work. The odometer gears broke before i bought the car but the previous owner told me it had only been broken for a couple months. Later when I replaced the head my mechanic estimated the milage of the car being approximately 115,000 miles due to the shape of the original head gasket. Also the car has a golf ball sized dent( actually came from a gold ball) in the passenger side rear wheel well. A/c works fine but needs a charge If you have any questions email at dylanrommel1012@msn.com or call at 918-260-1399. Serious inquirers only
