Vehicle Detail
1991 Carat, bought the vehicle on Craiglist from Pueblo Colorado (Nov 2009) as a mechanical hold, engine was rebuild, owner didn't has the money to pay for the repair $2,875.00 ,so I end up paying $3,500 and $600.00 for shipping ,transmision was rebuild last november($750.00), new Heads.new Damstak muffler, new tires, brake master cylinder, new fuel pump and filter --close to $7,200.00-- invested. The vehicle has 098856, miles on speedometer,It shows MPH but odometer stop working ,I dont know if is orginal spedometer, A/C is working excellent, converted to 134.It has some rust around the passenger rear wheel fender. I changed the brakes pads and shoes but still squezed.I just did an oil change and spark plugs, I droved the van 842 miles since the rebuild, some times smell like gasoline ,find out it is the reserve tanks under the front fenders , they will not seal correctly on top, so i dont fill the gas tank all the way. The passenger power window motor it is working very slow, but it closed all the way. It pass Texas State inspection last month. Radio is original, cassette deck inop. It has 2 or 3 little holes on the seats. 150 PSI on each piston, 33.3 fuel psi No warranty, AS IS. I am giving the best description on this vehicle. Reason to sell , looking for a 1966 kombi to matched with my 1966 bug. UPDATE; did not know it has 8 owners or the mileage of the body vehicle has to be over 150,000 until added on EBAY when it does the vehicle history. The van sat for almost 7 month because when engine and transmission were split for the repair of the transmission, the mechanic did not ground the distributor, so the vehicle was stalling every time you run it. 4 local mechanics didn’t find the problem, my last resource was the VW dealer, it was worse than the other mechanics, charge me $248.00 for diagnostic, they kept the van for 3 weeks and never fixed. Finally by coincidence my daughter husband bought a rebuild engine from Denver CO, so he told the mechanic about my symptoms on my van and he told me about the ground location on the distributor, it took me 2 minutes to fixed. Is been running like a champ since then. On Jun-25-11 at 09:34:53 PDT, seller added the following information: ADD more pictures at somebody request, engine, transmision and radiator.
