A real head turner! My jeep is a 53 willys body on a 78 cj7 frame (car is titled as a 53 willys). The body is all fiberglass, so no rust. There is a 1984 six cylinder 258 engine. Original engine (an older 258) was replaced with this 258 three years ago. Guy I bought it from said it was rebuilt 25000 miles ago. Has a push button start instead of key ignition. Will include the old key in case you want to hook back up the ignition. Has the carter 2bbl carb so it takes time to warm up when cold. Has a T150 3 speed transmission. Geared to go down the highway and go off-roading in the low gear too. Transmission was checked over last year. Shifts very good in forward gears. Does grind when you put it in reverse but only if you do it quickly. 4 Wheel drive works awesome. Has lockers on the front rims. The tires are 35" BFGoodrich All Terrain wheels. The rims were painted in april of this year. Tach and gas gauge do not work. Brand new custom made bumpers were installed in march of this year too. The bench seat could be swapped out if you wanted. Old owner had the gas tank that you sit on and that scared me so I put this in instead. Has new gas tank with skid plate located at the rear. New radiator hoses as of last year. New battery, along with plugs, wires and air filter. Body was originally red and was repainted green by old owner. I use a can of spray paint to touch up the fading spots every year (mostly under and on the bifold hood). The grill has two small cracks and were repaired with a bracket, but the screws still show. Could easily be replaced with a metal one. There is so much more that can be said about this jeep! I have an original 53 cj2a hood that I will include (doesnt fit quite right, needs extensions on the sides). Have many other miscellaneous parts that can go with it too. Does have two seat belts installed. There are no doors or tops. Im sure you could put them on if you wanted to. Jeep could be your daily driver (in the summer) or your off road buddy. Runs and drives without any issues. Has been garage kept. Previous owner owned it since it was put together. He was also a welding teacher so a lot of things are welded, like the roll bar to the windshield (which is metal). Great spot for a winch!On Jun-25-11 at 17:22:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Does have power steering. Put in a new gear box last year because the upper seal was bad. No problems with the pump after that. It also does not shake when traveling at higher speeds.On Jun-26-11 at 12:27:06 PDT, seller added the following information: The front tires do rub a little bit on the leaf spring when the wheel is turned all the way to the right. Only the driver side wheel rubs and thats only when fully turned.
