Vehicle Detail
This is a 1928 Dodge Brothers Victory 6 coupe; made only in 1928 for the 10 year anniversary of the Great War (WWI) and this was restored back in the mid 1970's very well. Runs on a straight six cylinder engine with hydraulic brakes and a 3-speed manual transmission very well. The car was restored back to factory specs and doesn't have any major mechanical modifications to ruin the historical integrity of the car. Has a black leatherette seat and door panels and a mohair roof with wooden trim. Has a rebuilt starter and good brakes all around with custom whitewall tires with good tread and a spare that hasn't ever been on the road. I recently purchased it with the intention of keeping it but we recently got some large bills and had some family employment issues that have forced me to sell the vehicle prematurely. The paint was done in laquer and does have some crazing in spots from age and usage, and there is some slight rust along the bottoms of the doors, but it looks to have been stopped and it doesn't detract in any way from the beauty of the car. On the dashboard, the speedomoter and gas gauge don't register but they are there and can be repaired. Oil pressure gauge, voltage and all pedals function properly- has a good clutch and brake. The 3-speed transmission shifts well and accelerates nicely. The very rare UX-2 carburetor has had some repairs over the years but still functions and powers the car well. Radiator was cleaned and restored and holds well along with a real Dodge Brothers motometer stil in place for temperature reading while driving. The emergency brake holds well. The car sports a roomy trunk and a custom car cover for storage, also features original Dodge step plates, pneumatic windshield wiper, rim spreader tool, dashlight, loud aoogah horn and more. The undercarriage has all been cleaned and painted as well during its frame-off restoration. All lights work and even has a "stop" light in the taillight. Overall this is a nice respectable car for the frequent driver or weekend show for admiration. The car is free of any major issues and will give years of good fun. It has a hidden switch under the dash and it sends gas reliably to the motor and helps the original vacuum system. It is a nice pump and is one newer change to the fuel delivery system. Just wanted to be thorough and add this detail. On Jun-21-11 at 15:05:13 PDT, seller added the following information: The carburetor has had a repair done to the lower housing- it had cracked and the previous owner used some metal repair putty to hold it in place firmly. I have a spare carb bottom that has a chip but can be repaired and mounted. As it is now the carb works just fine and can even handle the air vortex intake baffle which is original and very rare today. You can get a brand new aluminum lower carb bowl for about $600 today- or just drive it and enjoy it. On Jun-24-11 at 14:29:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Because so many people have asked- my reserve is $8500- so please bid accordingly! And it does have a clear and open title as well. Thanks for all who have asked.
