Up for auction is a 1969 SS 396 Chevelle. The car has been off the road and stored since approximately 1980 and appears to still retain most if not all of it's original paint. The car is a true Lemans blue car, code 71 with factory blue interior and also came with a black vinyl top . The car is equipped with factory power steering, power disc brakes, am radio, clock in the dash, bucket seats, console with automatic in the floor , still has it's original 12 bolt posi 3:31 rear end. I do not have the original engine or transmission. I do have a 290 casting big block which according to my books shows to be a 427 block. The engine is shown in the picts and has been completely rebuilt. The crank was turned .10-.10, block bored .030, new pistons and a mild cam upgrade, .525 lift cam. The engine has been broke in on an engine stand and has been run for several hours, it was hooked up to a radiator with oil and temp gauges. The motor is ready to start and go. Has a nice mild cam lope at an idle. The intake on the engine is the original 325hp 396 intake and the original distributor is still there. I do have all of the original alternator brackets, original a/c brackets, the pulleys, correct exhaust manifolds, two quadrajet carbs, one is the original with the a/c kick down still hooked on it. Transmission is a turbo 400 but still needs rebuilt, the rear end looks good, just needs new seals and it is useable. The dash of the car is still on intact, radio is still there, all of the seats are there, console is there and in good shape other than it needs a new lid. As for the body of the car, it will need new full rear quarter panels to take care of the rust behind the rear tires and some rust around the back glass, the inner and outer wheelhouses are good and solid, trunk pan is solid, frame is solid, floor pans have a few small holes up in front of the bucket seats but can be repaired with small patches, nothing large, the floor pans have never been undercoated, the doors are very solid and rust free but have some dents, very useable, front fenders have small rust areas down low behind the front tires, car will need new inner front fenders, they are plastic and cracked, windshield is cracked, rest of glass is good. The a/c box on the firewall is good, not busted like most. I am sure I have forgotten many details so feel free to email or call with questions. 417-327-5869.
