Vehicle Detail

Thanks for looking at my Ferrari Red 1965 Volkswagen Custom Beetle. A real head turner. VW Trends Magazine Cover car back in 1995. Loaded with extras. Lot's of custom details. Professionally built. I have had great pleasure owning this Beetle but now it's time for somebody else to enjoy it. The Cal Looker has a current California Title in my name. The Beetle can be shipped worldwide at the buyers expense. I recently have shipped some vehicles from my collection to buyers in Australia, Italy, Japan, Mexico and Venezuela. I have also used several domestic vehicle shippers that have provided excellent and affordable services. I purchased the Beetle from a famous VW Personality here in California a few years ago. The Beetle was on the cover of VW Trends Magazine back in 1995. Included with the Beetle is the magazine. Back then the Beetle had a 350hp turbocharged engine and some period chrome wheels. Now it sports a 2275cc VW engine and Porsche Alloys. The Beetle was built back in the mid 90's in California. It went through a full body off restoration. It was painted Rosso Corsa Red or more commonly known as Ferrari Red. I think it looks stunning on the car. Even though the paint job is about 15 years old it still looks great. The body is very straight. Any small nicks have been touched up. The paint has been touched up at the bottom of the rear apron where the muffler is. It is not easy to see but I just want the buyer to know. Definitely for a paint job to look this good after almost 15 years you know that it was done right. The floors are solid on the car. Fender wells were painted the same color as the Beetle and look great. Some nice custom features on the Beetle are: Talbot Style "Bullet" Side Mirror. Hex Bar Style Front and Rear T bars. They definitely provide that classic old school Cal Look. Porsche Style headlights. Parking lights inside are red. Original turn signals. Lots of them were shaved off back in the day. Original VW Logo. Original 1965 German Glass. A few minor stone chips. New window rubber. Original 2008 Bug-In stickers on the VW. Previous owner displayed the car there. One Piece Side windows. Stainless steel body trim. Custom GM Suburban third brake light that really looks great through the rear window. 2275cc emblem in the decklid. Amber topped Euro Taillight Lenses. Polished Stainless Steal Muffler. The wheels are customized Porsche Alloys. The rear wheels have been widened in the inside edge to provide the awesome look the Beetle has and of course to allow fatter rubber. Tire size is 205/70/15. Front tires are 145/15's. All wheels have VW valve stem caps. Front wheels have NEAL disc brake center caps. Billet aluminum running boards. They look stunning on the VW. The trunk compartment is very clean and detailed. Probably the first thing you will notice is the Porsche Space Saver aluminum spare tire. It has a polished center cap with logo and black lug nuts. The rim is painted the same color as the Beetle which looks great. Inside the trunk you will find a custom audio system. The installation of the amp and CD changer were nicely done. Nice black carpeting makes the trunk look first class. Even a VW logo carpet with script was installed. Wiring cover is the final touch. The engine is a very powerful 2275cc screamer. This Beetle is fast. CB Performance heads, Dual 44 idf Weber Carburetors, Custom Air Cleaners, Finned Aluminum Valve Covers, engine cross brace, ceramic coated header system, remote oil cooler with electric fan and oil filter, all plumbing done with stainless steal braided lines and all top level components. The engine tin was painted the same color as the car and has lot's of chrome and polish parts. It is really a looker. The firewall was done in a engine turned pattern. The transmission is a Rancho unit with a 3.88 ring and pinion. It has a 2300lb Kennedy Clutch Unit that is worked by a hydraulic clutch set-up. KYB GR2 shocks in the back. Adjustable front end with chrome sway bar. Front NEAL disc brakes with cross drilled rotors and Wilwood Calipers. They work excellent but do squeak a little as I have not used the Beetle that much recently. The interior looks excellent. High Quality SCAT Procar front seats. Drivers seat has adjustable lumbar support. Very comfortable and they recline. Rear bench seat was stitched the same as the SCAT seats using the same material. The black interior to me is the perfect color for a Ferrari Red Beetle. Interior is in excellent condition. Custom door panels look great. Black and Red coco mats make it look even better. Red Racing Seat Belts for the front seats and stock seat belts for the rear seat. Formuling Steering wheel feels and looks right on the Bug. Chrome turn signal arm. Odometer reads 17,085 miles. Stock radio on dash. Tachometer mounted under the dash. Scat Procar center console houses the oil pressure, temperature and boost gauges (remember the car used to have a turbo). There are also speakers mounted on the side of the center console. Gene Berg Shifter. Electrical shut off switch underneath the rear seat. Black headliner is in excellent condition. Matching black visors. The Audio system is awesome on the Beetle. The stock radio is still in the car just for looks. The real audio system is in the glove box. You will find a Sony head unit mounted up high so you still have room to use the glove box for papers underneath. You have the two speakers mounted on the side of the center counsel. BASS Boxes mounted underneath the two front seats as you will see in some pictures that I posted. You really can feel the bass when your sitting on those seats. You have also two speakers in the rear speaker panel behind the seat. A total of 6 speakers. Equalizer and CD changer are in the trunk. I have posted lots of pictures with the listing so you can get a great idea of this Custom Beetles condition. The Beetle is sold as is with no warranties. A $1,000 deposit is due through PayPal within 24 hours after the auction ends. Please only bid if your serious and have the money.
