Has current inspection (May 2011– Texas) Title is clear and will be signed over (we will need to make a copy of the title for our records showing new owner’s name once transaction is complete).We have owned the jeep for 10 years and it has been a good vehicle for us. Value is in the engine/transmission – replaced about 40K miles ago with new Jasper manufactured equipment. Transmission comes with the better intercooler upgrade. Fuel injectors were replaced in 2008. Know issues: Drivetrain Engine and transmission replaced in 2004 (approximately 40k on each) both Jasper mfg. Transmission does shift slow sometimes- probably actuator. Has new (and matching) cooler and both were installed by qualified dealer. Fuel injectors were replaced in 2008. It was shipped to Texas as a company use vehicle in Jan 2009.Computer display will sometimes show “coolant sensor bad” but we replaced the sensor and it did not correct this alarm. I have been driving with this alarm for two years and nothing seems to be affected by it. Water pump was replaced August of 2010. Power steering unit and pitman arm replaced in 2008. 4WD – in January of this year, the front differential burnt up while I was driving the vehicle. I removed the driveshaft (comes with sale) and continue to drive but you can still hear some noise as front axle is still connected to the differential (96 jeep grand Cherokee is all time 4WD, cant be disengaged manually). Thus, only the rear wheels are powered at this time. Transfer case seams fine – I can move the lever back and forth through the selections. Exterior. No major rust – body and frame in good condition. Underbody has little rust or corrosion. Scratches and places where paint is starting to fade to undercoat (above windshield). Bumpers in good condition One of the fog lights (in bumper) is missing. Other one was disconnected for inspection purposes. No major dents. Roof luggage rack in good shape and slides. Tires ok shape. Interior – cloth interior mostly ok but with normal wear/tear for 1996. Passenger door panel is not attached but will come with the vehicle (needs new fasteners to remount). Headliner is falling and fixed several places. Seats are cloth and have wear. Radio works. All power windows work. Driver door lock does not work electrically, but is ok when locked/unlocked by hand. Alarm system and radio work. Displays and dash dials work. Air conditioning needs charging (every spring) but usually lasts through the summer. Heat and blower work fine. Does come with spare tire. Good candidate for conversion to rock climber.
