Vehicle Detail

For sale is my very classy 1991 Mazda Miata. This is the most affordable and reliable rear wheel drive sports car money can buy hands down and I think the is the best looking NA Miata you will come across. I consistently get 28-29 mpg around town even with some of the little modifications done that might hinder the overall mpg. I'll go though the car best I can to give you a realistic idea of its condition. This is the second Miata I have owned and I am very familiar with these cars. Much of my free time has been spent over, under, and around this car. I know it well so don't hesitate to ask any questions. This car needs nothing but to be driven. The only reason I am selling is because I would like to get a Mini Cooper S. I will consider trades for a '03-'06 Cooper S plus my cash, but only if it has manual trans, excellent physical and mechanical condition with records, and has to be either Chili Red, Hyper Blue, or Racing Green. Sorry I'm "particular" about my cars. All work done on this car has been meticulously recorded by myself and the previous owner since 2007. Exterior: Complete strip and repaint in 2007 by Mazda dealership with factory color. The body is straight as an arrow and beautiful. I would give it a 9/10. It is not perfect because it a very small cluster of pin head chips near the drive side mirror and a very very minimal amount of paint "blister" on the rear bumper. (Maybe a 2 inches across) Other than those two things the paint and body is pristine! -Matching hard top (painted with car in 2007)-Tinted windows -Perfect zip window soft top -Black boot cover -Full factory red tonneau cover, mirror tie-downs , original case, and factory Mazda care guide. (This came from the limited '93 LE model and even fewer tonneau covers!) -Front "R" package spoiler -Rear deck spoiler -Turn signal air intakes - All rubber door and trim replaced in the last couple years -Everything else kept stock for a clean look. Suspension, chassis, brakes, and tries: -Tokico coil-over shocks all around (lowers the car about 1.25 inches and gives a "sportier" ride) -Racing Beat front and rear control arm brace -Shock tower brace -Stock 4 wheel disk brakes (calipers painted red) -Green stuff pads - Stainless-steel brake lines -No ABS - Brakes are very responsive and with such a light car it stop real quick. -15x6.5 MB Mesh X wheels and Kumho 195/50 Ecsta ACT tires. Tons o tread left! -No shimmy at 60mph like so many miatas have! Interior/ Electrical -The annoying door buzzer still works unfortunately... -Entire top of dash and crash pad replaced -Sony Xplode receiver - satellite radio ready- with door and head rest speakers. -The rest of the interior is completely stock and super clean, besides the shift knob, which I bought for my bear paw of a hand to fit comfortably. -All lights work perfect, head light motors, dimmer switch, cruise, wipers, gauges, etc. The oil gauge actually measures pressure. Not just Low, High, and something in the middle. -Locking glove box and console -Both map lights even work! YEEHAW! -No tricks to starting the car. Just turn the key! -A/C blows really cold! Still runs with R12. -The only problem I've had with the interior is the passenger window. It will roll down every time but the window button has to be pushed a couple times before it will go up. I've cleaned and checked power to all wires, connections, switch, window actuator. All appears normal but it still likes to be fickle. Engine, Drive train, Cooling This car runs perfect! It is 140,000 miles young and still has tons of pep and absolutely no leaks anywhere PERIOD. If you are familiar with Miata you will know they get clatter from the lifters over time. Not on this beauty. I also took the valve cover off last week getting ready to replace the timing belt, water pump, seals, gaskets, and anything it would need and after an inspection by my mechanic, no work needed to be done. The belt was in perfect shape, all seals were good. After 20 years you would expect the top end to have a little gunk and build-up. Not here. It looked brand new! My mechanic was shocked! The car does not burn or use any oil in between the 3000 mile oil changes. I have been using Shell Rotella 10-30 oil for the last 3 changes and the car does really well with it. -Stock 1.6 litre engine from top to bottom -External "performance" engine modifications include; -Full 2.5" stainless OBX exhaust setup from manifold to muffler. It sounds great! Quiet when cruising with a nice growl when you get on the gas. -Flyin' Miata CAT -Track Dog manifold blanket and exhaust manifold is heat wrapped where blanket doesn't cover. -K&N Filter with a "ram-air" type hose running from the grill to the underside of the filter. -Power Card fuel management. Mounted in the cubby under stereo. Very easy to use! -Stock cooling system. Replaced thermostat, gasket and senor about a month ago. I've never had a problem with this car getting hot. The temp gauge stays just south of the middle mark and never moves. Perfect.-Chrome radiator cowl between nose and radiator. Suppose to help with cooling. - Clutch, pressure plate, TO Bearing and Pilot bearing all replacing about 3000 miles ago. I broke-in the clutch properly driving it gently for the first 500 miles. - All clutch components replaced were Exedy OEM parts. Only the best for my girl! - Chromoly 10lb. lightened fly wheel from Good-Win Racing. After inspection of the fly wheel I decided it would be best to get a new one... and why not get it lighter stronger one for more fun! The car feels great with the new fly wheel. It has a sense of urgency now that it revs more freely. It also takes strain off the engine when you are at cruising speed. Please feel free to ask any questions!A small non-refundable deposit of $150 is required via paypal within 72 hours of the end of the auction. The rest can be paid for by cash, in person. Bank transfer or certified cashiers check. Please know I will not sign over the title or release the car from my possession until the entire sale amount has cleaned and in my account. If the auction does not meet reserve, I may consider the highest max bid for final sale.Cheers! On Jun-16-11 at 21:30:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention the car is also equipped with cruise control. Works perfect, use it all the time. Also, I left out trunk pictures. Sorry. It has the original kit with jack, tools, spare w/ cover. New battery, only 6 months old. Left the parking lights on one too many times. I will try to add those pictures ASAP and possibly a video walk around if it will let me upload it.On Jun-17-11 at 14:39:36 PDT, seller added the following information:
