Four year restoration recently completed on this 1968 Volkswagen Camper. It was a nice solid, original bus to begin with which I have put together using quality components. I put it together for my family and I to go camping with but reluctantly must sell due to an upcoming move. Still needs a few door seals , radio and general sorting after being off of the road for a while. Body Really solid to begin with. Replaced driver side rocker, passenger dog leg and patched the passenger floor with new metal. New paint from gutter down. Paint on roof is original. New german window, door and hatch seals and trim. Still needs front door to body seals. Roof has a few dents but you can't see them unless you are standing on a chair. Small rust hole on drivers side inner dogleg but the rest of the body is solid including the front/cargo floors and battery tray area. Engine/Transmission Engine is a mild performance engine to help push this van up hills and keep up with traffic. 1904cc (74mm crank X 90.5mm pistons), stock heads, CB Performance "Cheater" camshaft, dual Kadron carbs, stock heat exchangers for heat with a custom hidden exhaust that exits the passenger side. Transmission is stock 4-speed with new clutch components. There is about 10 miles total on this new drivetrain. Brakes/Tires/Suspension New master cylinder, wheel cylinders, soft brake lines and shoes with original german drums. Tires are brand new 195R14C Cooper SRM II Radial with a "D" load rating. Drag link and center pin/bushings have been replaced. The bus stops and steers well. Interior Nice original Westfalia camping interior with camping stool, child's cot and mosquito net. New curtains, new baltic birch headliner, door panels and kick panels, new front upholstery. Missing a radio, dash has a crack, missing jalousie window cranks, cabinet trim needs to be pulled, warmed up and stretched back into place. Glad to answer any questions or provide other pictures.
