Vehicle Detail
I have for sale my 1970 Dodge Charger project. This is a car I’d love to be able to keep, but I need to sell it. The car is an original big block car. It came from the factory with a 383 HP and automatic transmission. The numbers matching motor and transmission is long since gone. It currently has a 1968 383 in it and automatic transmission. I bought this car as a project started by a previous owner. I spent many, many hours and dollars getting it to its current state and it’s fairly close to being finished. I’ll list below what’s been done to the car and what lacks being done. I also will provide a link to a YouTube video where you can hear it start and run. Of course, if you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to ask. The car has had lots of work done to it. The body has fresh paint on it and it presents well. The paint and body work is driver quality. I’d rate it as 6 or 7 out of 10. The seats and door panels have been reupholstered and look nice. The engine has a new water pump, oil pump, plugs, plug wires, edelbrock 600 cfm carb, fuel pump, flex fan and engine chrome package. It looks very nice under the hood. The car starts easy and holds 40 PSI of oil pressure at idle. I’ve also rebuilt the front brakes. I put in new front bearings, new wheel cylinders and new brake hoses as well as a new master cylinder. I had not yet had a chance to do the rear. I’ve also installed a new set of headers and have a brand new 2.5” aluminized header-back exhaust system that will come new in the box with the car. All you have to do is install it. The car also comes with new front shocks to be installed. I have also installed a new gas tank and sending unit. Though it is nearing completion, I still consider this car to be a project. It has things left to be finished. The engine ran nicely before I tore it apart to install all the new goodies and paint the engine bay. I got it all put back together and now it has a miss under acceleration. I don’t consider myself a mechanic and unfortunately my limited abilities as a mechanic have failed at resolving this one. The original wiring harness is in good shape and comes with the car. This will need to be installed to get the lights and such working to be street legal. The floor pans and trunk floor were patched by the previous owner. The floor pans were donor floor pans from a parts car and were in nice solid shape. The floor pans were laid in and lap welded. However, the trunk pan was patched using marine fiberglass. I wouldn’t have done it this way, but the result was an amazingly solid repair. Anyway, the new owner may or may not want to change this. All the glass is with the car but a couple of the door mechanisms will need work before it rolls up and down properly. There is also a small amount of damage on the front valance (visiable and marked in one of the pics) where I ran over my work stool pulling into my shop. A video of the car running can be seen at the YouTube link below this paragraph. This auction has a very reasonable, cheap in fact, reserve on this car. So bid to win! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV3eQCQBa7Y The car is sold as is, no warranty implied or offered. The successful bidder is required to send a $1000 nonrefundable deposit within 12 hours of the end of auction via PayPal (other methods may be discussed as long as they meet the stipulated timeframe). So, please ask all your questions prior to bidding. The balance of the auction is due in full within 7 days of the end of auction. I prefer PayPal (for the deposit) and a postal money order, certified bank check, or cashier’s check for the balance. All funds must clear the bank prior to release of the car. I would like the car picked up within 30 days of the end of the auction. The buyer is solely responsible for arranging the pickup of the car.
