This is the top of the line second generation civic and the last year of this generation. - excellent fuel consumption (32 mpg on highway) - NO RUST (car spent most its life in New Mexico) - original condition, original paint, no accidents, no issues - clear title in hand by owner, currently registered, daily driver - very good mechanical condition, recent mechanical inspection - good tires, brakes, needs nothing, ready to drive home - reupholestered front and rear seats match car beautifully - new, high quality Hella (german-made) halogen headlights (stock lights included as spares) - recent Honda battery, exhaust, carburetor adjustment and tune-up - both front and rear seats recline forward (large storage space in the back) - car has working fan and heat, does not have AC (no air conditioning). I have acquired this car about a year ago from New Mexico. Car spent most of its life in New Mexico and has no rust anywhere. I drove it several thousand miles since then including a recent long 1300 mile trip without any problems. The current mileage is consistent with carfax and car is unmolested and has original paint. It starts, runs, drives and stops very well. Front end is tight and there is no shaking, etc drives straight and nice. The car is quite perky and sprints easily to highway speed. Clutch grabs strong and gear shifting is smooth and very comfortable. I have recently had both front and rear seats reupholestered with gray squares tweed cloth, black vinyl sides and red piping ($750 cost). The pattern is neutral and still maintains the characted of the car. About one month ago I had the car inspected at a local reputable mechanical shop and had carburetor adjusted, valves adjusted, timing belt was checked (and is in good condition, had been replaced by previous owner). Recent tune up, recent battery from Honda dealership and new exhaust. As I mentioned, car is fully operational and can be driven home right away. Cosmetically, car had a small dent on the front left fender just to the left of the left headlight ever since I acquired the car. The dent was pulled and a new headlight housing was installed. No other bodywork was done anywhere, no bondo, etc. The dent is still visible as I did not have bondo work done and there is a 1x2 inch patch of paint that peeled off (the primer is visible there, that is not rust). I debated whether to have the dent fully repaired professionally but given that the paint of the car is original it would be difficult to match the paint and the new owner might wish to have the whole car repainted. The paint right now is a bit faded from sun but still in decent condition. There is a stone chip on the front right hood (seen in pictures) and a few small dings here and there but nothing major. Interior is also decent, there are two cracks on the dashboard and one cut on the passenger door panel (all seen in pictures). Carpet has a bit of wear but still looks decent. The radio is nothing fancy, a simple Kenwood aftermarket with detachable face and works but I believe the left rear speaker does not work. There is few minor stains on the headliner which I will try to clean before end of auction. Car has not been smoked in during my possesion, but the ashtray shows previous use -eg before me; currently there is no cigarette smoke or any other odors in the car. Car is clean but I have not gone overboard (eg I did not wash or detail the engine, etc). I will have the carpet shampooed before delivery. The windshield wipers and instrument lights switch are a bit finicky and you may need to move it two times to properly turn on (this is part of the combination switch which includes headlights, turn signal, instrument and position lights, windshield wipers and washer and it is a very common on second generation civics. The switch may need to have the electrical connections cleaned). All other controls, switches, door handles etc work fine. Car has a rear windshield wiper as well and rear window defroster. Please realize this car is 28 years old and do expect some wear and tear but looking at Carfax mileage history it appears to have been driven consistently throughout the years and remained in this excellent condition! I have the clear title in hand. Payment will be via a Paypal deposit (immediately after the auction) and the balance in cash or cashiers check. I will not deliver car or title until all funds are clear. Please arrange to have payment and car picked up within 7 days after the auction, as I do not have driveway space! I will assist with shipping as needed (eg I will be available to deliver car to a shipper if necessary) and I can pick you up at the Nashville airport if flying in and driving home. If shipping the car, I expect prompt payment via cashier check and I will overnight title, owners manual and all receipts to you. If driving the car home, I personally would feel safe to drive this car cross country but if you choose to do so, it will be at your own risk particularly if you drive in extreme condition (eg hot deserts, icy mountain roads, etc. ) I will not leave my plates on the car, it is a liability and you will need to obtain a temporary permit to legally drive the car home (can be obtained at County Clerk office 10 min from my house - you will need the title signed over to your name or a Bill of Sale, your driver's license and $10 to get the permit. Their hours are limited though, and they are close on weekends so plan accordingly. Please email me early if you have more questions about this.
