Vehicle Detail
I have owned this Mercedes the last 5 years. I do not use it, so it needs to go. I bought it from a museum in southern Illinois that was closing. It had been in the museum for 9 years, and driven monthly. I have driven it monthly for 10-15 miles since owning it. The previous owner bought it in Texas. There is no rust anwhere except some trace surface rust around the edges of the moonroof. This is a good driver quality auto, but don't expect it to be perfect. The interior leather upholstery looks practically new, with no tears or cracks. Picture #2 shows a paint defect approximately 1.5 inches diameter. I took it to a Mercedes specialty shop for a tune up about 3 years ago, and was told it was one of the sharpest vintage Mercedes that he had seen in a long time. He said that he believed that the mileage is correct based on his test driving the car. He also remarked that it is very tight. Everything works. The A/C blows cool as is typical of Mercedes of this period. The turn signals work, but you have to hold the lever to keep them blinking. Something is out of adjustment in the cancelling mechanism. I have described this car to the best that I can. The pictures show it as it is, the good and the flaws. Someone installed a Pioneer stereo radio. It works fine. I have documents such as comes with a new car, plus an insurance card from 1982 and a license renewal from 93... all prove that the car was in Texas. It was sold originally from a Dallas Mercedes Dealership in May 1975. If you want to own a nice and sharp older Mercedes, this is your chance. The remainder must be in cash or certified funds before taking possession.Certified funds must clear before the car leaves my possession.
