Vehicle Detail

Please read the ENTIRE posting before bidding: This is your opportunity to own a 1957 Shortbed Stepside that only needs a few finishing steps to be a great candidate for your local car show. Right now, it is perfect as a show and shine or daily driver choice as well. The truck is a former show truck that has been updated with: Fatman Mustang II front suspension (new springs last year) Power steering Power brakes with disc up front Airbags on the rear to control ride height The suspension is lowered with off-set front spindles and lowering blocks in the rear (the springs weren’t cut or heated) The front rotors were updated to use GM bolt pattern The frame has been c-notched where needed and boxed for strength The truck is running a SBC 400 with Hooker headers, a Weiand intake manifold, Street Demon carburetor and stock distributor with Pertronix Ignitor II module. The Tranny is a TH400 with a shift kit connected to a B&M shifter and running through a 10-bolt rear end. On the inside, you’ll find the following updates: Power bench seat from a Cadillac Tilt steering column Custom Billet gauge insert with AutoMeter gauges Power Windows with vent-window delete Custom door panels, headliner and sun visors Concord AM/FM Cassette player with two speakers behind the seats. It’s an older deck but still usable I went through and replaced all of the gaskets with the exception of head gaskets and oil pan. There was no compelling reason to replace those since things were operating normally. I inherited the truck a year ago and have gone through it, updating things like the front springs, engine gaskets, installing the Pertronix unit, etc. The truck runs really well and is a great cruiser. Personally, I see this as the perfect vehicle for someone that has always wanted to own and drive a classic. It’s not a show truck that you’re afraid to drive on a regular basis, nor is it a POS that you need to do a few thousand dollars work to before you can drive it. This truck is road-ready and can be driven immediately (I have, for the last year). On the flip side, this is also the perfect starting point for someone wanting to build a show truck since most of the “hard stuff” is already complete (power steering, brakes, front suspension, frame work, etc). Either way, it should fit the bill. That being said, this isn’t a show truck. It does have some dings, dents, etc that keep it from being really show-worthy. It looks great driving down the road and from 5-10ft away, so it won’t embarrass you but it isn’t perfect. I’m just trying to be honest and set expectations properly so you won’t be disappointed. This is a great looking truck that will definitely get noticed and runs great. But it isn’t perfect and you should know that. If you have any questions, please let me know and I’ll do my best to get you answers. There are some things I don’t know about the truck since I inherited it but I’ll do what I can. Vehicle Transportation – I have a company that I’ve used recently to transport some vehicles and found them to be reasonably priced, dependable and took good care of my cars. I can provide contact information for you and will work with the transport to get your vehicle loaded. That being said, once the car is on the truck, all liability is the part of the transport company. Payment – A non-refundable deposit of $500 US is required to our PayPal account at the close of the eBay auction. The remainder is required upon delivery of the vehicle. Cash is required for the remainder. No personal checks or Money Orders will be accepted, sorry. On Jun-11-11 at 23:57:20 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE - I just took a look under the truck and found that this is a 12-bolt and not a 10-bolt rear end as previously listed. Sorry for any confusion but I wanted to clarify my mistake. That's what I get for taking someone else's word for it and not checking for myself.
