Vehicle Detail
RELISTED DUE TO SCAMMER. Let me start by saying that this is a unique conversion. I came up with the idea after building a pickup bed trailer from a full Chevy Pickup. I located a 1997 long wheel base Chevy Venture. The Venture was an LS model and had very few options. The Venture had what was thought to be the normal head gasket issue that these vehicles are known for. After towing the vehicle back to my house, I began the conversion. I composed a list of items to remove and laid out my plan to build the trailer. After removing some components listed below, I then modified the wiring harness to work as a trailer. The tail light harness was extended to reach the trailer hitch. The door lock system been converted to function using a relay instead of the BCM and functions perfectly. The factory radio was remounted and a set of Pioneer 6x9 speakers were added as the front channels and factory tailgate speakers are rear channels. The dome lights were rewire to work off a switch. I then installed a 120v to 12v charger along with a 200 amp isolator. The factory battery location was retained and wired to the isolator to recharge while plugged into 120v source or the tow vehicle. A 120v outlet and switch panel was installed on the passenger side interior at the rear of the vehicle. The fuel filler neck has be fabricated to now contain a male 120v plug. I also added 3 halogen lights to the inside of the tailgate to provide light at night while the gate is open. I then constructed the trailer tongue assembly. I began by MIG welding a 3 "C" channel between the front frame rails along the firewall. I then used 3" boxed tubing for the tongue. It was attached to the "C" channel at the firewall and MIG welded to the front bumper crash bar. The tongue exits the front bumper through the lower air intake of the bumper. The tongue has 1 7/8 hitch bolted to at this time. I retained the factory rear hydraulic brake and purchased surge brake hitch assembly with brakes lines, but they have not been installed yet. I am included these parts with the trailer. The front headlamps and windshield have been blacked and the side mirrors have been removed. The trailer retains its style and look of a minivan, but by removing the seats and dash there is now 5 ft x 11ft of floor space. I had built this trailer to haul my tools for on site mechanic work and welding. I am no longer doing on site work and decided to sell this unique trailer. I don't plan on ever building another one, so this is a one off custom. Please feel free to ask questions. I can take additional pictures at request. This trailer is in as-is condition. Since it is now a homemade trailer the original vehicle title does not apply. The winning bidder will receive a bill of sale only. I do not offer shipping on this trailer. The Winning Bidder is responsible for picking up the trailer. This trailer is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction early. The following items were removed due to weight reduction or function of the vehicle. -Engine cradle to include: Engine Transmission Front suspension Steering assembly Front Brakes -Emissions control system -Exhaust System -Cooling System -HVAC System -Fuel Tank -ABS brake system and brake booster assembly -ECM and BCM -Dashboard, Airbags, Steering column, Seats, & Power Window motors -Front and Rear Window wiper system
