You are Bidding On A Beautiful 1969 Cougar Convertible Up for auction is a really nice 1969 Cougar Convertible. The car is dark burgundy with the Deluxe black vinyl interior. I have enjoyed the car for the last 5 years and now it"s time to pass it on to another lucky caretaker. I will tell you what I know about the car and will describe it in detail below. As the pictures show, the car is truly stunning It was apparently repainted at some point prior to my purchasing it, and the paint has held up very well and looks as nice at 5 ft as it does at 20. The only imperfections worth noting are 2 bubbles that were present when I purchased the vehicle and have remained the same during that time. They are shown in pics as best as I could. One is an area about 1/2 inch in diameter at the lower rear of the drivers door. The other is slightly larger and is at the bottom of the drivers side quarter panel just to the rear of the rear wheel well. The chrome is far above "driver" in appearance, as is the stainless and polished aluminum. Note the condition of the rear taillight panel, and the gas cover door emblem is the best I have seen aside from NOS. The sequential turn signals work perfectly as do all the lights both interior and exterior. The hidden headlight doors perform flawlessly and remain closed. All the vacqum lines and canisters seem to be in good working order. The top is a white vinyl power unit that operates as smooth as silk with no alignment issues or leaks. The rear window is the split glass unit(not a Ford better idea) that has the usual gapping issues. The interior is black vinyl Deluxe and both front buckets have been repadded and recovered in original pattern material. The carper appears to be original and is not faded and quite serviceable. The dashpad is original and in perfect condition. The wood trim is perfect and all gauges and lights work. As the pic shows, this was an original AC car and so has all the vents and ducting as well as controls intact. The steering wheel is a wood grain rim-blow unit that does not operate. Steering components and ball joints have been checked and appear tight. The car drives steers and handles as new.
