1991 was the last year for the Model W126 Coupe and Sedan. The 560 SEC Coupe was one of the finest engineered cars Mercedes Benz has ever made. Rock solid and hand built in the Stuttgart plant, this model was the last of an era. In 1991 less than 2500 SECs were made, making it the rarest of all 500 Series. By the end of 1991 the timeless styling that began in 1981 was getting dated, and production stopped. With a MSRP of $85,500 the 1991 SEC was not for everyone. To put the price in perspective, you could buy 2 Covettes and have enough change left to buy a Ford Taurus. These cars oozed quality and excess. They were not for everyone. The look and price boasted about it. Doctors, High Priced Lawyers, Athletes and Royals were the target market. In fact Princess Diana always cherished her SEC as her favorite car. The 5 Liter V8 dispensed 275 HP and the power delivery was breathtaking. Highway handling is a dream. The faster you go the more comforting the ride. This particular car is just about flawless. Asolutely original and totally rust free, one owner, Califonia car. The interior is immaculate showing hardly any signs of wear on the soft and supple leather seats. Carpets are extra clean with the original floor mats.Wood veneer around the dash is spectacular and no cracking. All the power options in excellent working condition which include the windows, sunroof, seats and outside door mirror. Tons of power from the smooth V8 coupled to a nice shifting automatic transmission. Car is complemented by the ice cold air conditioning and power steering. Tires and brakes are near new. The paint on the exterior of the car is ice blue wand still retains its gleam and luster. The car does have a few scratches on the front and rear bumper and some small stone chips on the hood but very superficial. All the books come with the car which includes the owners handbook and the maintenance schedule book which shows a service history up until 110,000 miles. Also has the original window sticker.
