Vehicle Detail

I started the restoration from the ground up. All bushings for the front suspension have been replaced with new bushings, the front shocks have been replaced with new shocks. The front A-frames have been changed with used A-frames with factory disc brake calipers set up from junk yard ( I am not sure want model B body they were off of as they were separated from the car it came from). I had the exhaust system replaced from front to back with flow master mufflers down to the chrome exhaust tips. The original 318 was removed and I rebuilt a 440 motor from a 1969 charger and installed it. The correct torsion bars for a 440 motor were purchased new and installed to handle the extra weight. The radiator is new. I purchased a Carter AFB 625 CFM carburetor and installed it. I also replaced the transmission with the transmission from the same charger that had a high performance torque converter mount. I am not sure of the gear ratio but it is geared on the low side. The transmission is in good shape and needs only to have the seals replaced (I should have done before putting it together) because it has a very small transmission oil leak from the rear seal. The power steering pump has a small leak and will need replacing. The car body is in good shape with the usual rust areas at the bottom of the rear quarter panels (year one has prefabricated replacements for this). The roof had a vinyl top that ripped and caused rust holes that ruined the original seats and carpet. I put a fiberglass patch over the entire top to prevent the interior from getting damaged while I was searching for a replacement top and will need to be replaced. (Year one has a roof replacement entire roof for around $650.00) The seats have been re-upholstered ( I have the head rests but they need to be re-upholstered) and the carpet has been replaced with a replacement from Year One. The head liner is solid but will need to be replaced due to the resin seeped down from the roof patch and hardened. The body is straight and the hood was replaced with one I found on EBay that is in good condition. The windows are complete but someone at sometime took what looks like a diamond ring and scratched all but the rear window glass (someone loved the car more than then girl) The car has all the original chrome and the front grill is in excellent condition. The flip up light motor has striped gears and will need to be replaced but will work manually. The rear bumper is rusted and bent. The front bumper is in good shape with one small ding in it. The car has current registration and safety inspection but is a salvaged title. Every thing works and is drivable. The brakes need a proportioning valve installed for the current front disc brakes set up that will help the car stop better but the brakes do work. The rear brake pads are new. The car came with factory air conditioning and the most of the original equipment is there including the compressor but will need to be changed over to R134. The horn button is missing and the horn is wired to the wiper washer circuit to pass safety inspection. The tires were bought new about 8 years ago and although the tread is good they have cracks in the side walls due to age and I would not trust them to go long distance. The car has the original hub caps that are in ok condition. I have the 8 track player that is after market but was installed in the car most likely during the 70’s that I removed to install the carpet and seats. The car is very fast and is fun to drive. It could stand to have the fuel tank flushed as the car has been setting for a couple of years and although there was not a lot of fuel in the tank, there is some residual old fuel (that was left after I drained the fuel without removing the tank) mixed with the fresh fuel that was added to it recently. I am selling the car as is.
