Vehicle Detail
1994 Pontiac Bonneville SSE, 164K miles If you have zero or negative feedback you must contact me first to let me know you are serious. You're looking at an auction for a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville SSE. This SSE comes equipped with a 3.8L V6 engine (which has an awesome reputation as being one of the best engines ever manufactured by GM) and automatic transmission. The vehicle is loaded with leather seats, power windows, power locks, power seats (driver and passenger), traction control, air suspension, an air compressor in the trunk, and many more options. With some time and effort this Bonneville will be a nice daily driver, my problem is I don't have the time any more. The motor and transmission/drivetrain are very solid. The motor fires right up with a flick of the key and still has a lot of power for accelerating and cruising. The car currently has 164,326 miles on the odometer. This vehicle has been in my family since purchased new in 1994. The car does run and drive, but does not have fully functional brakes as the brake pedal must be pushed down all the way due to a leaking brake line(s). The vehicle does stop but not as smoothly or easily as it should. The master cylinder is not leaking but brake fluid did leak from the front left side. Not being a mechanic, I am uncertain of the extent of the repair required. But for a mechanically sound individual it may not be too difficult. The second issue with this vehicle is the left front wheel is exhibiting some vibration as the vehicle is driven at speeds exceeding 45 m.p.h. Once again, not being a mechanic, I am not sure what is the cause of this wheel vibration. Because of the mileage, there most likely is wear on the ball joints or tie rods but I really don't know. The outside of the tire is quite worn so it would have to be replaced. The body is in decent shape, with some minor issues. The windshield is cracked across the entire length but is still driveable. I have been driving with it this way for the past year and had no issues. If it bothers you then it may need to be replaced. This windshield has the HUD Heads Up Display where you can view the speed you are going out in front of your view near the front bumper of the vehicle. The paint on top of the front, left fender has a chip. The top of the left, rear wheel well is starting to rust (Just forward of the fuel filler door). I attempted to repair this with some fiberglass as seen in the photo below. This will require some body work attention to improve aesthetics. There is a very slight bend located on the left, front corner of the hood. The driver door creaks a little when opening and closing as there is some wear on the hinge bushings. Because of the vehicle's age and use there are some scratches and small imperfections on various locations of the body, nothing major. The lock cylinder for the driver door is missing so to enter the vehicle when locked you must unlock the passenger door first and then hit the power door locks to open the driver door. I rarely locked the vehicle so this was no problem for me but on occassion I opened the car the hard way. Just trying to divulge all issues there are with the vehicle. The mechanism for lifting the trunk to its open position and holding it there is broken. I have used a stick to hold it open as seen in the photo. Again, for someone who is mechanically inclined, this could be repaired. The interior of the vehicle has leather seats of which the driver side is worn with cracks in the leather. The front passenger seat has a cut in the leather but has a piece of duct tape covering the cut. This duct tape has been on the seat for years. The dash has some cracks in the plastic from the sun and wear, nothing major, just aesthetics. The Stereo has a CD player that sometimes works, you have to be patient when loading a disc. The redundant radio controls on the steering wheel also occassionaly work. The cigarette lighter also does not work but is still there. I may have missed some small details but again nothing significant. The rear seating area is in pretty nice shape for a vehicle this age. There is a fold down armrest that opens to the trunk when carrying long cargo such as boards, etc. This is an awesome feature along with the roomy interior to fit a lot of stuff in this vehicle. I have checked this vehicle over to the best of my ability, however, I can't guarantee there aren't any further problems with it. I can guarantee that it ran and drove today. Definitely a nice car for the money with potential for many more years of use. This Pontiac Bonneville SSE is sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied.
