ronrossmotors Store 1992 CORVETTE - STUNNING- CALIFORNIA CAR- NO RESERVE Rated at a healthy 300 bhp at 5,000 rpm, and with 330 lb/ft of torque at 4,000 rpm, the LT1s newfound power came from a number of improvements and refinements to the workhorse 5.7-liter V-8. These included the introduction of computer-controlled engine timing, a new low-restriction exhaust system that used two catalytic converters and oxygen sensors (one for each cylinder bank), a new camshaft profile, a higher compression ratio, free-flow cylinder heads, and a revised multiport fuel-injection system. The LT1 weighed 21 pounds more than the L98 it replaced, however, primarily due to the use of cast-iron, rather than stainless-steel exhaust manifolds. All 1992 Corvettes benefited from a new standard traction-control system called Acceleration Slip Regulation, which was developed in conjunction with Germanys Bosch. It used the ABS sensors to detect rear-wheel slip and apply the brakes to the affected wheels and/or throttle back power to maintain traction. A dashboard switch could be activated to disable the system. Further helping the car hug the road to match the LT1 powerplants added muscle were standard new directional/asymmetrical-tread Goodyear GS-C tires. My Corvette in question is spectacular with a very desirable color combination of original red exterior and the black leather interior. The paintwork on the car is superb with a few tiny hood chips that are not noticeable. The interior leather is in great shape with the leather hardening very slightly on the seats. Carpets are nice with the original Corvette floor mats. All the gauges and power functions work well besides the passenger seat - does not move forward or back, but is in the correct position for the passenger. The air conditioner blows ice cold and the power steering moves the car effortlessly. Took a trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas over the memorial weekend, about a 600 mile round trip. The car ran like a top, the power from the V8 and the road holding was excellent not to mention the gas mileage which surprised me, was great.
