Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1959 Buick Le sabre 4 door sedan. It has a 364 cubic inch 250 horse power Wildcat engine with a Dynaflow 2 speed transmission. The engine puts out 384 foot ponds of torque at 2,400 RPM. It has power steering and power brakes. I am selling this as a parts car. You can not drive this away. Must be towed. No brakes. This car is complete from the air cleaner to the wheel covers. This car has both rear bottom quarter panels rusted away. The rocker panels are just about nonexistent. All four doors are rotted on the lower part. Unless you own a body shop and are a sheet medal man with a lot of enthusiasm this is not the car for you! However, here is the good stuff. All the trim is there. All but a few pieces are very nice. The rear bumper I bought new still in the GM wrapper four year ago and is still super nice. It cost me 960.00 on eBay. The entire front grill is in superb shape. The front bumper is straight except for a little ding that you need to look for to find. Nice chrome. The front and rear windshields are perfect. The front is the wrap around and cost a fortune. The side window glass is fine except the passengers front which was busted by a bee bee gun. The head liner is all most perfect. The roof is good and straight. The hood is perfect. All emblems are there. The front seat was reupholsterd and the rear bottom was also done. The back of the rear seat needs to be redone now. All seat springs are good. The frame has a hole in it under the left rear seat but frame is not broke. The trunk floor has some issues. It comes with a spare tire. Didn't see that coming did you? This is one of the world famous Classic Taxis that ruled the streets in Ocean City for ten years. This was the flag ship of the fleet and was my personal car. I got so busy keeping the other cars up I didn't have time to drive so I parked it. Four years later, it just rotted away. All the running gear is there. The radiator still has green anti-freeze in it. The trans was rebuilt but has a very week reverse. It can not back up a hill or a steep driveway. The engine runs when you drip some gas down the carburetor. I'll get it running smooth tomorrow. All the lights work except the dash lights for some reason. The door panels will clean up. They are solid except the lower six inches. What I usually do is put carpet on this lower part. I also put a mid 80's GM one wire alternator on instead of the old generator. Much more desirable. The car was washed before the pic's so the paint looks shinier than when it drys. If you want to fix this car up, it can be done. Good luck. I have a clear title. I will need a 200.00 non refundable deposit within 48 hours of the auction close and the balance when you pick up the car. The car needs to be picked up within 14 days unless otherwise agreed to. Any questions please call me at 410-600-5037 or 443-497-3721. Thanks, Ray. This engine is used in a lot of Rat Rods because of it's unusual “Nail Head” characteristics. Please do not bid unless you read the description carefully. This is where is as is. No crying when you see it. What you see is what you get. I have 8 vehicles that need to go. All cars are in the 50's and 60's. Some I am parting out, others are complete. Here are some others. 1964 Galaxie 500, totaled by a tourist. 1953 Packard, engine trans, power steering etc, every thing but the body. 1965 Corvair 4 door hardtop with factory air. On Jun-06-11 at 13:52:54 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE. I just got the car running. Needed points. She runs smoooth. Engine is very quiet except for the nice throaty roar of the 2 1/2 inch flowmaster muffler. This car runs and drives, just don't stop. Needs master cylinder. We can drive it up a trailer. Oil pressure is good. Alt charging 14 volts. Cooling system holds pressure. You will be happy. Thanks Ray.
