Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1986 Ford Mustang GT with just under 90,000 original miles on the body and approximately 6,000 miles on a newly rebuilt motor. The motor was built using an '86 302 block and then bored 30 over to 306 C.I. It has Windsor Jr. heads that have been mildly ported and polished and 1.6 roller rockers installed. It has a factory spec lift and duration cam in it. The entire motor was assembled with FelPro gaskets including a nice three piece rear main seal to ensure no oil leaks in the long run. Before the motor was put back in the car, a new LUK clutch and FMS flywheel were installed. Finally, the motor has been topped off with a new Weiand Street Warrior intake manifold and Holley 6170 600 CFM four barrel carb being fed with an externally mounted 7 PSI Carter electronic fuel pump. It has a set of MAC shorty headers leading out to a 2 1/2" H-Pipe and a set of fairly quiet mufflers that still sound pretty descent when you put your foot into it. The ignition is powered by an MSD 6A box and MSD coil. The motor was not built to be a 400 HP torque monster but more like a 275 to 300 HP daily driver which is what I am currently using it as. The engine is kept nice and cool with a brand new (just installed two weeks ago) all aluminum 2 core radiator with full 1" cooling tubes and a 160 degree thermostat. The entire AC system is brand new from front to back and runs nice and cold. It is charged using R134. The serpentine belt system is spinning on a set of March aluminum under drive pulleys and is turning a high output 3G alternator. The rear end is a posi trac 3.55 with Richmond gears in it. The steering and suspension are basically brand new with all new polyurethane bushings in the front and new upper and lower ball joints. It has a brand new power steering rack and pump and new inner and outer tie rods. Both front wheel bearing assemblies have been replaced and it has new shocks and struts on all four corners with caster/camber plates in the shock towers. The car is riding on a set of 16" Pony wheels and Nitto tires with a good 60 to 70 percent of the tread still left on them. I will mention that I did get a little too close to a curb and the drivers side front rim has some very bad road rash on it and will need to be replaced. To be honest, I was going to wait until I drove the tires off this thing and then replace the wheels with a nice new set of 17" '95 Cobra R silver five star wheels. You can get them on LMR for only $119.00 a piece. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/LRS-1007CP/1979-93-Mustang-Silver-Cobra-R-Wheel-17X9 The interior is mostly stock except for a few small things worth mentioning. The steering wheel is a Grant GT with horn button delete and the system command center in the center console has been replaced with a set of mechanical oil pressure and water temperature gauges. The tranny is shifted with a Hurst Gold short throw shifter and Hurst shifter handle. Please note that the picture shows a different shifter handle and knob and has since been replaced with the Hurst shifter and knob. The car has power windows, power door locks and factory installed fog lights and they all work perfectly. The stereo is an aftermarket Panasonic CD player with an aux port and a set of new 6" x 9" speakers in the rear and the original 3 1/2" speakers in the dash. It's nothing special, but it works. Lastly, and most importantly, the heater core has been replaced as this was a common failure part on the Fox Body Mustangs. The body is in very good shape for a 25 year old car with no rust on the body itself. It does have a small amount of rust on the hatchback right around the lower portion of the rear window channel where water would build up and sit. This is very common, but the good news is it's still repairable and not too far gone. The rear lip on the hatchback is in perfect condition which is actually very rare to see. By the way, I just installed new lifetime warranty hatch struts and I will include the receipt for them. The body does have it's share of dings in it but no major dents and the white paint is original. The previous owner did tell me that the flat black paint on the lower half of the car had been redone at some point but it must have been a number of years ago as it now has some wear on it. This car has been done over the right way and will give the new owner years of driving pleasure without having to put a dime into it. Let's start the bidding at $500 and see if we can meet the very low reserve on this 7 day auction. The winning bidder will not be dissapointed and can rest assured that they are buying this vehicle from a very honest and reputable E-Bayer. Just take a look at my 100% positive feedback if you are wondering otherwise. Winning bidder will be responsible for paying a $500 non-refundable deposit at close of auction and the remainder will be due within 7 days. Please note that the Vehicle History Report is listing an accident in October of 2007 in California while the vehicle was owned and registered in Gainsville, FL. Yes, this is a California car, but the previous owner that I bought the vehicle from over in Gainsville said he never took the car back to California and he never had any accidents with the car while he owned it. There are no signs whatsoever of any accident damage repaired or not repaired on the vehicle.
