1927 Other Makes Henderson Deluxe

1927 Henderson Deluxe w/optional reverse Henderson produced 4 cylinder motorcycles from 1912 until 1931. They were the largest and fastest motorcycles of their time, and appealed to sport riders and police departments. Police favored them for traffic patrol because they were faster than anything on the roads. This is an 80ci 1300cc, 35hp@3800rpm motorcycle capable of speeds in access of 100mph. The San Diego Police dept went a genuine 100mph on a stock 1922 Henderson Deluxe. Henderson’s set many transcontinental endurance records during their time, including being the first bike to circle the world in 1913. Henderson D24712a is fitted with Persons Majestic Police Siren, 0-100 Corbin Speedometer w/ max hand needle, blue spot light, and with San Francisco Police Badge hand painted on right side tank. Henderson royal blue, with straw yellow rims, and hand painted gold trim. Motor has been completely rebuilt, some of that thanks to the late Carl Vandre. Matching number cases are some of the best seen, no cracks or repairs needed. Original Ricardo cylinders are in perfect condition, no damaged or broken fins. New Ross aluminum pistons, rings and wrist pins. Balanced crank/flywheel. New King Clutch and more. Simms C4 magneto rebuilt at Mark’s Magneto. Splitdorf DU5 has been rebuilt with Gene Harper regulator and battery (still dry). All new nickel plating, new brake band, Coker 385 diamond balloon tires, Persons King Comfort seat, Zenith T4X with new venturi. Bike has about 20 miles on since rebuild, all gears including reverse, shifts and work very smooth. Purchased out of the Sacramento area 5 years ago before being rebuilt. Included with bike is a correct side car frame that’s in rough shape but could be used for castings and patterns. A new wiring harness is partially installed, the switch (Copy of orginal) needs to be completed. Bike received the “Award of Excellence” at the 2010 Milwaukee Masterpiece Concours d’ Elegance. Genuine Police hat included, along with original parts book and original 1927 advertisement brochure. Sold with Bill of Sales. Low reserve set considering the many hours to restore.
