We have owned this Pickup since the mid 1970's. It has been stored inside. The engine was started approximately 20 years ago + or -. I have come to the decision to sell the truck. I have not got the talent, time or treasure required to put this back in shape. When I was younger, I removed the left rear fender, sanded it and painted it with black "rustoleum". This was simultaneously the beginning and end of my career as a body man. The fender is in the back of the truck with the taillight assembly. I have not done alot of research on this truck, so if you are interested in owning it------do your own research to verify everything you need to know in order to make the purchase. My information is relayed from what I have been told by others----- Plymouth built pickups for a very short time. Early models had front end similar to Plymouth cars of that vintage, later models carried the Dodge truck front end. In 1938 Plymouth celebrated their 10th anniversary in the Automobile manufacturing business. 1938 models are known as 'Jubelee' editions. The six cylinder engine appears to be correct, but I have not checked the "numbers". The plate on the firewall shows the model as a "PT-57" and the serial as 8621193. The build plate shows K-8-2-LR43620 the first digit could be something other than a "K" but that is my best guess. Sheet metal is mostly solid there are some issues in the bottom of each door, at some of the panel joints, the bottom of the tailgate is very weak, the floor of the bed is bent from overloading. It would appear that the dashboard was replaced with a dash from a later production vehicle. There is a dash board in the bed that may be the correct one, it is missing the speedometer. I have been told the rear bumper is not correct for the truck. This truck will be sold "as is-where is". No warranty. All information relayed is to give a starting point, if it is inaccurate I will not be responsible. DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK! The truck is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is available for inspection. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of successful auction. Balance due within 7 days. Certified funds preferred.
