Vehicle Detail

For sale is National Speed's previous Redline Time Attack Unlimited RWD race winning car. This car took 3rd, 2nd, and 1st in the 3 races I competed in (in that order) and will be extremely competitive in the series or any other time attack series the new owner chooses to compete in. This S2000 makes 700rwhp and sustains 1.6g’s in high speed corners thanks to a full aerodynamic package that includes a splitter, dual layer underbody tunnel, dual diffuser, spoon hardtop, rear wing and a few other minor changes. With the current aero package and a set of new Hoosier A6’s or Hankooks higher numbers could likely be achieved. One of the defining features of this build has always been the quality and sophistication of the control system. With over $18000 in MoTeC electronics it’s safe to say this is the best monitored and controlled car you will encounter at this level, complete with extremely advanced traction control, as well as a huge variety of fail-safes and driver warnings that can save you thousands of dollars. The data-logging alone has helped me through a variety of events with minimal downtime to find and repair a problem. Please note this IS a race car, NOT a show car it was painted a single stage light gray at Maaco prior to my last race and looks great from 10ft. The body is relatively dent and scratch free (nothing through the paint), it has no interior other than the dash. The wiring loom is professionally done although because of the number of changes made to the wiring I have chosen to keep most of it in factory like “split conduit” with only a select few harnesses done in full Raychem. I have invested 3 years and over $100,000 in this car, I couldn't even count the hour's I've put into it. If bids go over $50,000 I will fully race prep and deliver including 1 weekend of track support/training. I will tune it for the fuel of your choice prior to delivery. I also have a large list of spares that will be sold as part of the package including 2 spare F20c long blocks. If the bid does not reach $40,000 the MoTeC electronics will be removed and replaced with a Series 2 AEM EMS. The turbo is mounted on a custom equal length sidewinder style manifold constructed from Burns Stainless 321 tubing & a Burns collector. The setup is truly divided including two 38mm recirculating wastegates. The downpipe is 3" until the wastegates merge which are tangentially fed into a 3-4" transition. All charge tubing has been constructed from Burns 6061 tubing & utilizes a 750hp precision intercooler. A custom intake manifold has also been designed specifically for this application including a 90mm throttle body and true raised velocity stacks (full bell). There is no lack of fuel with two in tank Walbros feeding a custom swirl pot (to eliminate fuel starvation in high G turns). An Aeromotive A1000 feeds the custom fuel rail & 1600cc injectors from the swirl pot. All lines are made from Aeroquip Startlite hose and the entire system is compatible with any known fuel type. Suspension & Brakes This S2000 sits on 315/35 R18 & 295/35 R18s mounted on CCW C10s and has the suspension to support it. The shocks are custom valved Moton Clubsports with 2000lb/in springs (other springs are included but these have proved the best in 90% of conditions). The front swaybar has been replaced with an adjustable Comptech unit. Every piece of rubber on the car has been replaced with spherical bearings or solid mounts (all suspension joints, motor mounts, tran mount, diff mounts, etc.). A few parts have been custom made to correct suspension geometry including the front upper control arm and rear toe link. Stopping wont be a problem either with a full StopTech kit front and rear complete with stainless lines and an adjustable bias valve. The StopTech pads have been ditched in favor of Carbotech XP10s. Chassis & Aero The chassis has been tied together in key areas & is complete with a competition 10pt cage built to Redline Time Attack URWD class specs (but should be sufficient for any series). The cage was designed around chassis stiffness in key areas and ties in the rear subframe mount, dash support & other weak points. The aero portion of this race car is fairly unique although it includes all the standard stuff (APR splitter, wing w/ gurney flap, APR race mirror) it has some defining features that set it apart. The APR splitter ties into a flat bottom that goes the length of the car into a standard but very large rear diffuser cut into the bumper, then a second flat bottom is mounted 1.5" lower just above ground height that forms a tunnel below the standard flat bottom feeding a second diffuser. The Spoon hardtop and low mounted APR wing aid in evacuating the diffuser which is also fed by the exhaust (all of this copied from formula one, the next step is a DBW throttle and WOT decel to feed the diffuser). Electronics & Tuning There is no doubt this is the best controlled & monitored "amateur" race car. Along with a MoTeC M800, Sports Dash Logger, E888 Expander, Shift Light Module, and Beacon I have mounted over 20 sensors that are all monitored & utilized in the control system. Fuel & ignition are trimmed by not only the standard MAP & RPM but also fuel temp, fuel pressure, exhaust manifold pressure, and current gear. Each cylinder was tuned for fuel and ign individually using 4 EGTs and two exhaust manifold pressure sensors. On the dash two rotary switches are mounted one cycles between maps (currently 4: 450hp wet, 550hp, 650hp, 700hp), the other trims the traction control for the pavement/tire condition on a scale of 1 to 12, traction control can be disabled by setting it to 1 or can be extremely aggressive (0 wheel spin) by setting it to 12. Traction control is trimmed by 4 wheel speed sensors, a 3 axis accelerometer, and throttle position. Boost is controlled by throttle position to create a linear curve between throttle position and power for better throttle control. Logging is done primarily through the dash although the ecu logs it's own parameters. With the sensors mounted full track mapping is possible, even monitoring every sensor at 20hz hours of data can be collected. Engine health & chassis performance can be closely monitored including ring health with the added crankcase pressure sensor. Safety Besides the 10pt cage a hard mounted carbon seat is surrounded by a window net, 6pt Hans harness, a quick release steering wheel, and a fire extinguisher.
