Up for auction is my 1971 Pontiac GTO... This is a project that’s not far from being done, I just don’t have the time to finish it. I work on other people’s classic cars all day long and can’t seem to find the time or energy to finish mine... The car I started with was a nice solid California GTO Hard top. It's a complete frame off, rotisserie restoration that's almost completed, everything here is new, rebuilt or restored... BODY Completely disassembled and acid dipped to remove all the paint and gunk. After the metal and body work was done BASF primers and BC/CC paint were used to finish the body. NOS front and rear valances, rear bumper and park lenses were used. All other lenses, the wing and the Ram Air pan are reproduction. All bolts and hardware are new. Painless wire harness. ENGINE ’73 455 4 bolt main block with ’71 #96 GTO heads and cast iron GTO intake manifold. It’s been Balanced and Blue Printed everything is new, The heads were ported and rebuilt by Pontiac Gregg Merrick, A custom ground UltraDyne cam (Gregg’s spec’s) Crower Forged steel rods, TRW forged pistons, HO Racing oil pan, COATED DOUGS HEADERS... TRANS ’71 Big Block Vette wide ratio muncie, new steel flywheel, center force dual friction clutch assy, NEW CLUTCH LINKAGE... SUSPENSION Global West tubular upper control arms, B body spindles with 12” brakes, HO Racing springs and 1 3/8” sway bars, all polygraphite bushings, Restored Tilt steering column with restored leather wrapped formula wheel. Custom built LEE power steering gear 12.1 to 1 constant ratio, high effort. 12 bolt posi rear end with new strange differential, forged Moser axles, all new bearings...
