Vehicle Detail
The only reason this car is FOR SALE, is to help my family member who lost everything in the April 27, 2011 Alabama tornadoes! You are bidding on a 1972 Chevelle that I have invested in over $20K in doing a frame off restoration. I have completed the rolling chassis, motor and transmission. Everything on it is brand new down to every nut and bolt! For the frame: it has all tubular suspension front and rear, has hotchkis sway bars, 12 bolt posi rear-end w/ a 4:10 gear. All steering linkages are complete with a manual quick ratio steering gear box and disc brakes on front with 2” drop spindle and 1” lowering springs in rear. The frame is sitting on rally wheels with new tires, center caps, and beauty rings. For the motor: it is out of a 1969 Chevelle 402 Big Block bored 30 over to 408. All of the machine work has been completed by Huntsville Engines. It has a steel crank eagle rods forged aluminum pistons aluminum heads that have also been ported and polished and O-ringed. The Cam is a comp-cam with a 298 duration and 617 lift. The intake is a Victor Jr air gap with a quick fuel 850 carburetor. The motor has 9 to 1 compression and runs great on pump gas and is very streetable. I have not dynode the motor, but it has been balanced and should do around 700hp. I also have a pro-billet MSD distributor to go with it. I also have receipts for all of the parts and work that has been done thus far. Motor does run and it is an absolute BEAST!! For the body: it is overall in good shape. The doors and deck lid are paint ready. I have purchased a new trunk pan and the panel that goes between the deck lid and rear window. I do not have the fenders, hood, grille, or bumpers. All I have for the interior is the dash. I do have all glass except for front and rear window and I do have the original core support. I know I am probably leaving some things out, but someone could easily finish this and have a very high dollar car. See pictures
