Vehicle Detail
Fresh from winter storage is a nice 1986 Jaguar XJS. I bought the car about 3 years ago as a project. I was intending to do so customization to take advantage of the low sleek front end of the car. I removed the front bumper (will be included with car) and was going to fabricate some bumperettes instead of the bulky original bumper. But unfortunately, I have too many cars and projects and I have to let some go. Condition: I haven't driven it much as it is a project, but it was easy to notice how smooth the car is when it accelerates. The V-12 engine is quiet and strong, while the transmission shifts smoothly as it should. The brakes work as they should as well. The interior is decent but will need work; theres stitch separation on the seats, the headliner needs to be replaced, and some wood trim needs to be refreshed. The top of the dash is perfect with no cracks. The exterior body panels have paint oxidation and are overall pretty good but there are small areas of rust through under rear wheel wells and rear quarters, some which I already patched. There is also some rust through on the front passenger floor panel, you can see it in the pics plus along with the metal piece I riveted on to cover the largest hole but there's nothing too difficult to patch. The car runs and drives. But to be road-worthy it needs normal maintenance services done (hoses, belts, brakes, oil change, tune-up, etc.) It also feels like the rear shocks are bad because the rear bottoms out on bumps. I'm not sure if it is shocks, but I have a new pair in the trunk that will go with the car. All tires hold air and are decent. I don't know the actual miles, the odometer was broken when I got the car. I test drove the car a few days ago and it gets up to highway speeds no problem. But again it hasn't been on the road for a while - so don't send me any emails asking if you can drive it hundreds of miles home. That decision is all yours - I've been as honest as I can about the car. The car is being sold as-is with no warranty. I have clean Michigan title in hand. Please ask all questions before bidding. I WILL ANSWER NO QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAR, OTHER THAN THOSE ABOUT PAYMENT AND PICKUP, AFTER THE CLOSE OF THE AUCTION. $300 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hrs after auction ends via PayPal. Item available for local sale as well; so I reserve the right to end the auction early at any time.
