CAR IS LOCATED IN CHARLOTTE, NC. You are bidding on one 1970(titled as 1971) Datsun 240Z. Serial number 7124 of 17,740 for 1970. 7/70 build date. It has been upgraded in almost every way. Drive it on the street or take it to the track. I will briefly list the highlights here and expand below. NC car it's entire life. Garage kept since 1982. Engine probably has no more than 1000 miles on it. Interior in great condition. All panels there and in good shape. Driver door panel is coming loose a little at the bottom. All electrics work except rear defrost and horn(it makes noise, maybe bad connection or weak relay). Missing dome lamp assembly. Heater core is not hooked up. Blower fan operational though. Original A/C control under dash is there. Dash has 3 cracks, otherwise, in great condition(see photos). I have the horn button. Hatch vents are sealed with silicone to prevent leakage. Toyo Z 600-F6 front tires(some tread left), Performance Radial USA rear tires(lots of tread left). 195/60-14. E88 head shaved .001, FLOWED, stiff valve springs, steel valve seats, RACER BROWN cam with ADJUSTABLE CAM GEAR (Numbers on cam read: B110, SS-56M2, 187-12), early style cam oiler setup installed. TRIPLE MIKUNI/SOLEX carbs, custom FUEL COOLER. ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP AND RADIATOR FAN. ELECTROMOTIVE HPV-1 crank fired ignition system. GLEASON TORSEN POSITIVE TRACTION UNIT installed in R-200 rear end with 3.90 gear. MOROSO oil accumulator. 280Z OIL COOLER. OIL TEMPERATURE INDICATION SYSTEM. AUTO METER tachometer. ROLL CAGE and STRUT BRACES custom fabricated, PADDY HOPKIRK RACING SEATS, TOKICO 5 way adjustable struts. ENKEI 14" wheels in near perfect condition. SHORT STEERING KNUCKLES, custom LOWERED SPRINGS from 280Z. REBUILT 5-SPEED transmission from 1983 280Z. FIDANZA FLYWHEEL, SPEC clutch assembly. Runs and drives incredible. Fast as you know what. Runs on 93 with octane boost each gas tank. Needs nothing. I would redo the exhaust connection between the header collectors and exhaust. Has been temporarily patched for now. Maybe freshen up the paint, some scrapes, rock chips and scratches but it is holding up quite well hence being inside since 1983. One area of rust at rear driver wheel well(see photos). Other than that, you are good to go. Floors were patched/strengthened very well. Passenger frame rail strengthened as well as front lower radiator supports. Here are the details. Purchased from original owner and taken off road in 1982 at approx 120K. All areas of concern addressed (pass frame rail area/floors/front lower radiator supports all strengthened, new rear quarter skins installed, entire frame checked and aligned if/as needed). New paint at this time. All weatherstripping replaced. Original bumpers painted flat black. Front spoiler added. Driven approx 30K more miles on original engine, then taken off road again in the late 1990s and completely upgraded. L24 block removed and L26 block installed and bored to 2.8 liters, E88 head shaved .001, flowed, stiff valve springs, steel valve seats, RACER BROWN cam with ADJUSTABLE CAM GEAR, early style OILING TUBE installed for cam, retained original early valve cover. 280Z OIL COOLER installed. OIL TEMPERATURE INDICATION SYSTEM installed. NISSAN COMPETITION 3+3 to 2 header installed with custom 3" exhaust. GLEASON TORSEN positive traction unit installed in R-200, 3.90 rear end. Stock 4 speed transmission removed and replaced with close ratio Japanese spec 240Z 5 speed transmission. Original strut cartridges rebuilt, custom lowering springs from 280Z installed, ROLL CAGE and STRUT BRACES custom fabricated. Large diameter roll bars 1" front/.75" rear. PADDY HOPKIRK racing seats installed. AUTO METER tachometer installed. Car was then autocrossed for a total of around 400 miles until around 2000. I am in touch with this owner. Car was then sold in 2000 and the following upgrades/changes were made. L26 block removed, L28 flatop block installed bored .5mm over with BALANCED RODS and WINDAGE TRAY. TRIPLE MIKUNI 44mm choke carbs with MIKUNI intake installed. Previous E88 flowed head retained. ELECTROMOTIVE HPV-1 crank fired ignition system installed. MOROSO OIL ACCUMULATOR and custom FUEL COOLER installed. ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP installed. TOKICO 5 way ADJUSTABLE struts installed. Car existed with this setup until around 2005. At this time the original engine, close ratio Japanese spec 240Z transmission and L26 block went missing and I am still in the process of tracking them down as I have no info on this particular owner. I believe it was still only used for autocrossing during this period. Car was then sold in 2005 and stock 4 speed transmission installed. That same year, the stock 4 speed transmission was removed and replaced with a rebuilt 1983 280Z 5 SPEED. FIDANZA FLYWHEEL and SPEC clutch assembly installed. Car was driven from time to time for around a year with this setup until 2006. I am in touch with this owner. Car was then sold in 2006 to current owner. Driven seldom.
